Challenge: I really love my...(one item three ways)

One of my favorite fashion magazines is People Style Watch. They have a feature called "I really love my..." where they show celebrities wearing their favorite item in three different outfits. I thought that would be a fun challenge to do! I love wardrobe remixing! You can use previous WIW pictures and/or try it going forward in the next week or two with one of your favorite items, whether it be shoes/boots, purse, jewelry, coat, or other piece of clothing. Show how versatile your favorite piece is! And tell us why you love this item!

I am going to try to think of what I can use this coming week, but here's one from my recent WIW's:

I really love my Frye Melissa Tall Lace boots in black. They were pretty darned expensive, but I'm definitely getting my money's worth out of them! These are the last four times I've worn them in the last couple weeks, and in three different settings (work, MOTG and date night) to boot (pun intended)! In fact I even wore them three days in a row (2/3/4)! I love these boots because they instantly add edge by toughening up my ladylike looks. I feel like a rock star when I wear them. They are definitely an essential part of my secret UWP uniform!

Work: black shirt and grey suit with black lace trim

Work #2: black leather jacket, teal top and red pencil skirt

Date night: Missoni for Target blouse and purple poncho with black skinnies

MOTG: black turtleneck, black zip peacoat and garnet snakeskin skinnies

I love your boots too! I think it's no secret which items I'd use, lol. They already get remixed to the nth degree!

Gorgeous outfits and those boots are so fab I think I would sleep in them ;)

Claire--Monty or the taupe leather jacket? You are a master wardrobe remixer! I would love to see your series of pictures!

I also love this feature of People Style Watch. Part of me likes to see that not every celebrity has to dash out in something brand new every time they leave the house :)
I am all packed up so I could only do this through old pics but I might try. It'll be fun to watch at any rate!

Love your boots and the outfit pics featuring them!

I am totally game for this challenge! I subsribe to StyleWatch, too and love those featurettes. I think next week's post will feature my new fuschia blazer. In the meantime, here are some previously posted pics showing how much I really love my pink printed scarf.

    1. scarf worn as a necktie with striped button-down, blazer, skinny jeans & flats
    2. scarf worn as a vest with s/s t-neck, pink skirt, black tights & flats (I'm going to revise this outfit this week using the feedback I was given last time)
    3. scarf draped over a pink cable-knit sweater with skinny jeans and flats

Wow Jewell, you are so creative with scarves! So inspiring! That is a such a pretty pattern! Great outfits!

Mo, I absolutely would love to see what you come up with from your old WIW's!

Great post! My favorite is your last MOTG picture.

I erased a lot of duplicate pictures so I don't have much to choose from anymore . . . but since I love my ON drapey white tee I'll use it!
Bonus, it's so interchangeable, I have it with shorts, pants, and a skirt :)

Pic 1 out for some grub and football at a sportsbar
    Pic 2 Miami Britto Gallery
Pic 3 New Year's Eve low key evening out for Chinese food

4- 6 Somewhat better close ups, and the inspiration shot for #3

Great pics Mo! That T looks so nice on you. So versatile--I love how a plain white T can even be used in a dressy evening look! It's like the casual sister to the white button down shirt--so classic!

I love my Aldo Crisson booties!

They are comfy, and works with flare skirts, A-lines, dresses, and pencil skirts :D

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

Love this thread! It's great to see all of these fab pieces in action :).

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Nice booties, Lyn! Love your outfits! And bonus item--your Fossil satchel is also in all three pics too! Go Team Fossil!

  • lyn* replied 12 years ago

Oh yeah! Well, I recycle a lot of pieces ... my Fossil watch is also in all three!

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Bumping this to remind people to play and post their pics!

It was hard to select a favorite piece for me because I love most of my items. However I will nominate my yellow pencil skirt here: because I was afraid the color is limiting in styling but it appeared to be surprisingly versatile - and so much fun to style!
Is it OK if I post more than three ways I wear it? :-)

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Wow Sveta! Of course more than three pics is fine--the more the merrier! I love these looks--thanks for the inspiration for my own yellow raisin skirt! It's hard to pick a favorite but I think #1 is simply gorgeous with that blouse and the turquoise bag. You are right, the skirt is amazingly versatile and you look great in it!

I started thrifting in 2010 and this was the first item I bought: Apt. 9 floral skirt.

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

AJ, cute skirt and it's great to see a patterned skirt being able to work with multiple pieces! These all look great! I love the pattern mixing in #3! And #2 is so classic with the red bag and shoes!

  • AJ replied 12 years ago

Hope you don't mind if I add another valuable player: olive military jacket.

  • Marley replied 12 years ago

Ooh, I did this sometime last year with a simple Michael Stars shimmery gray tank - wore it 5 different ways, 5 days in a row. The reason I really enjoyed this challenge is because I had always worn this tank as a layering item UNDERneath other tops - and for this challenge I brought it out into the open and I was surprised at how well it worked! So - Here you go!

Darn it - having trouble loading photos again. Will keep trying!
