K/R: J Crew seahorse boy shirt and Kut white BF shorts

I'm a sucker for fun animal prints, but is that blinding me to keep something that isn't right for me? Love the print but am unsure if this seahorse shirt looks good or not on me. Give it to me straight! And the white boyfriend shorts too. I wanted something that doesn't fall down every time I wear it, I'm not really into the slouchy look. But is it too tight? Size 6 which is a tad roomy for me in the Kut Dianas when it stretches out between washes. I tried rolling the sleeves and doing a half tuck, did not have time to pull out a belt.
Thanks for the advice! Sorry to post and run--got a work meeting to go to tonight!

I'm just not loving either of these on you. I also love the seahorse print, but maybe if you pop the collar and iron it it would improve, but it's not crisp like I would expect for your style. the shorts are too tight to be BF and too loose to be anything flattering. They look ok in 1 when waist and crotch are covered up. I think if you expose the waist you need more slouch and a belt or a different fit.

I don't love either of these on you. The shirt kind of overwhelms you, and the rolls on the shorts look big. The crotch whiskering suggests they don't fit as well as they could.

I think I agree with Jeanne and Ceit.  I've had this problem with shirts before, when I liked the print but not the fit, and I had to let the shirts go.  It's just not worth it to keep less than fab clothes.

Despite the cute print, this shirt has an extremely masculine vibe about it and not in the way you express a bit of a warrior vibe IYKWIM.  I also think those shorts don't get you.  For these reasons, I would pass on both.

Yeah, I have to agree, sadly. Hese both look like they were meant to be tomboy fits. Not right for the DB.

Oh, I saw the seahorse shorts and I wanted them SO BADLY!!!!!! But shorts that short are not in my plan right now. What if you unbuttoned the shirt and wore it over a cute tank? Would that help?

The shorts are not fitting you right and it's not clear to me that they are too small. It could be they're just not cut right for you.

You guys are all very wise. The shirt is too tomboy and the shorts are too tight looking.  I'm returning both the shirt and shors.

I think you would look good in shorter shorts! the bottom of your leg looks very slim, like mine  and I tend to look better balanced if I show a bit more leg.

I love the print on the J Crew shirt, but I don't think it's as flattering on you as your other shirts. I'm not crazy about the fit of the shorts, either, they look like they want to be skinnies in the front and BF's in the back. Compared to how awesome you looked in your Tommy Bahama purchases, this just isn't in the same style zone as that :(
