Post-apocalyptic capsule: dead stuff and lots of drapey black

Not sure, but I think my shadow style may be taking over as my primary style! When I read Angie's Post Apocalyptic ensemble post, I found myself saying "Check, check, check..." I had so many pieces that could work that I probably could go on for another week in the same theme! It was fun amping up the goth factor this week! Lots of drapey black, asymmetric hems, studded handbag, edgy and tough jewelry and footwear, and dead stuff. I even have post apocalyptic lounge wear!

1-2. Target shirt, Rachel Roy tree skirt (with matching earrings), Ugg moto booties. Nothing says post apocalyptic more than dead tree branches.
3-4. Vince cardigan, AllSaints dress, Ugg ballet flats, Alexis Bittar necklace.
5-7. AllSaints Flora Mortis tee (more dead stuff!), Spiegel leather jacket, Zella capris, Topshop peep toe booties.
8-10. Macy's sweater dress, obi belt, Kate Spade trench, Frye boots.
11. Helmut Lang Villous zip sweatshirt, Gap camouflage pants, Frye boots.
12. Helmut Lang sweater and bra, Vigoss destroyed jeans, Born snow boots, map bag.
13. Barefoot Dreams "blardigan", Target pajamas, Munro Aries Birk-style sandals.

This is a great look for you.  You wear black as well as dramatic shapes so well.  My favorite is the Macy's sweater dress.  The hourglass silhouette created is fantastic on you.  (I hope DH realizes how lucky he is to have you as a wife!  Mom to 3, doctor, and stunning looker!)

I love it. The zombies have arrived in your closet. So different from your demure bombshell, but it's working. The earrings are great!

...Ok, zombies have arrived or you need to get out of the city ;)

    Thanks Denise and Rachy!
I think I need a new moniker! Something to do with zombies...

  • rachylou replied 8 years ago

Oh, you do, you do! :)

Natalie, you make Post-apocalyptic look Polished and even cute.  It's good to see a different side of this look.  My favorites are 8, 9 and 11.

I like your PA style. My favorite is #9 but they're all fantastic.

new moniker:  The Demure Lady Z(ombie)?

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 8 years ago

    Zombshell.

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

Ummlila wins the day! Of course I love all your outfits, and drape is UWP tough but also forgiving of middle-aged UWPs with less than perfect abs like mine.

Zombshell - I love it. And you get a special prize for being matchy matchy post apocalyptic!

  • anne replied 8 years ago

Wow - another set of styles from the amazing Natalie. You have SUCH a great eye and look as wonderful in this current style as your former more ladylike one. (though this still has a touch of that in there)

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

These are great and I love zombshell!

  • Diana replied 8 years ago

    Lol, I'm dying at zombshell.

You look great, Natalie, and post apocalyptic princess totally suits you. I especially love the sweater dress and lace up boots!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 8 years ago

    Bombshell-ter?
You wear this style so well. These are all dynamite dark looks. (And who snuck in that person in 12? Who is that? Just kidding--you just look so different in the light tones amid all the darker outfits. It's also a great post-Apocalyptic look--lighter shades of distress.) I'm especially wowed by the dresses, 3-4 and 8-9.

  • unfrumped replied 8 years ago

Oh my goodness! All are terrific, with just the right amount of edge in your ladylike way.
Waving to Blardigan twin- it's that time of year!

  • krishnidoux replied 8 years ago

Wow! Some of these outfits are drop dead gorgeous! 3, 5, 9 and 12 are my favorites. They have so much attitude. 13 is also nice but it's hard to see it as "you". 11 is a casual version which is also appealing. The only one I like less is 1. I think it's the looser, less structured top that bothers me. Have you tried it with the boots you wear in 11?

  • Susie replied 8 years ago

You have such a fab wardrobe, Natalie, and you've shown great outfits here! I love your PA style!

  • Momo replied 8 years ago

Love these! You look great in these looks.

  • deb replied 8 years ago

Oh, Oh, Oh, I love #9. They are all good but #9 is my fave.

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

Sweet sister! This is absolutely fantastic. Zombshell and Post-Apocalyptic Princess indeed.  #9 is my favorite, but really they are all my favorites.

This post is worth it for the newly coined "zombshell," alone.  Of course, you look terrific, too!  I love the lace up boots in the last look, and the Rachel Roy skirt outfit.  The tree print is both arty and PA.

Such a creative way to shop your closet!
