Red red wine you make me feel so fine

Burgundy is supposed to be one of the hottest color trends for this fall and I've fallen hard for it! In the last two weeks I've worn NINE burgundy outfits! I bought a pair of burgundy maternity skinny jeans and I've already worn it at least 3 times in the last couple of weeks. And two new burgundy sweaters (8&10) and some burgundy tights (11) from H&M. And some new burgundy lipstick. Plus I had a bunch of plum/burgundy colored items already in my closet. (Even my minivan is burgundy!) Here's a recap of my burgundy outfits from the last two weeks. Is this total color overkill, or should I just consider it my "burgundy capsule"? :) I think this is becoming one of my signature colors--it feels very me! Especially happy since I got my first two maternity Killer ratings from Angie (11 & 8)! I'm so glad pregnancy hasn't made me lose my style!

Every time I wear one of these outfits, I think of the UB40 song...
"Red red wine you make me feel so fine
You keep me rocking all of the time
Red red wine you make me feel so grand
I feel a million dollars when you're just in my hand"

I love everything you wear. Especially the blue and burgundy combo in #9, I'd probably never have put those two colors together (and they look awesome), but it is super inspiring that you have such a distinct style and yet such varied looks... know what I mean?

Uh that was gushy. Sorry. Nice outfits, bro...

Wear and enjoy!! You look wonderful in your wines. And it's the colour of the season, so it's a great way to keep the fun quotient high at a time when some people forget about fashion entirely. (We knew you wouldn't do that, though!!)

In #8 you are a pregnant bombshell!!!

And the chorus, "Red, red wi----i---ne. Goes to my he----a-----d......."

You look terrific in burgundy, Natalie. I love the fur trimmed sweater SO much on you. Coupled with the burgundy lipstick, you've got a very 1950's Hollywood glam look going on. Is hubs okay with *this* fur look? It's definitely more demure than a full fur coat!

I was wondering if you'd gotten up to no good with a cork on the floor!! Burgundy is wonderfully rich and goes great with your coloring.

Ah, one of the best concerts I ever attended was UB40 headlining Reggae Night at the Hollywood Bowl! Good times, man! Good times!

I love all these outfits! #6 is my favorite, barely edging out #8, but they are all fab, fab, fab! What a great way for an expectant mother to get her daily dose of wine without the alcohol!!

Oh my - I've never ever seen anyone dressing so elaborate as pregnant! So happy to see you are enjoying the "dressing party" still

    You look TOTALLY FAB. <3

I'm glad the pregnancy is going well :) I think I might try the burgundy tights too, if I stop by H&M today!

You look fabulous! You make pregnancy look great.

OT: I love your framed peach labels! I have framed apple labels hanging in my dining room. :) My family is in the apple tree industry in WA state. ;)

You've got to be the most stylish pregnant woman I've ever seen (well, maybe you're tied with Patience, who I don't see around much here anymore). I'm knocked flat by all these looks! I love the sweater with the faux fur collar--great find!

Now here's a really really nice 2012 maternity wardrobe! I love them all, especially from pic5 and up the most. It's hard to have a favourite one!
Will it be 9 and its sleek silhouette and fun print mix?
Or 5 and its comfy, relaxed still very sexy vibe?
Edgy 7, the girl going to town or going to take the town with her chic boots and rebellious leather jacket?
Or it may very well be 11 with its adorable dress, interesting boots and belt.
    Burgundy suits you well!

Wonderful! I don't blame you for flipping for it, and you're doing it so well too.

Burgundy has always been one of my favourites and yet I have very little of it right now. I think cobalt and pine green and rust have shoved it aside for the time being, but I'm sure it will be back!

I love your burgundy skinnies, and I really love outfit 9 too. The blue and yellow, so fab!

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

#6 is my fave too, but I really dig the pants outfits too. Not that every outfit isn't fab.

You're not going to hear any complaints form me - I love burgundy and did long before it became the color of the year. It looks wonderful on you!

And my car is burgundy too :)

8 and 11 are my faves! They're all great outfits. You make pregnancy look chic. The only colour I went with in my pregnancy was red. It was the colour of the bucket I had 24/7, lol!

  • Diana replied 11 years ago

I'm a lifelong burgundy fan too! You've put together a great and very stylish maternity capsule wardrobe. Super impressive!

Hoy smokes, you and Scarlet must co-host a preggo fashion blog! Tons of ladies need this inspiration! Those 9 months seem to be "the dark age" for some.
