SCARF CHALLENGE DAY 2: Post your looks here!

Day 2 of the scarf challenge! Can't wait to see your outfits after the amazing ones you all posted yesterday!

I wore this Jason Wu cat print scarf bib style. I wore red today because I went to DD's school to help with their Chinese New Year Party. The kids made paper lanterns and dragon ornaments to celebrate the Year of the Snake.

Gap Maternity red turtleneck
H&M Maternity black skinny pants
Jason Wu for Target Milu cat scarf
Ralph Lauren black satchel
Rieker black booties
I couldn't decide which coat to wear with this outfit--which do you like better?
J Crew ivory tipped peacoat or Kate Spade black trench

Super cute, GP! You look fantastic in red, black and white.

My scarf pic is a double loop. I hadn't thought to wear this scarf with this dress, but when I was looking, it jumped out at me and I think the color pairing is a natural. I'm not usually into such muted colors, but since I got 'em, might as well wear 'em!

Great outfit GP! Love it with the tipped peacoat. Yippee year of the snake. I need to find my lucky red to wear this year :) Super styling of the scarf, very fresh and new.

Here is my very shortlived go at it... (not feeling well today) so after the photo i went back to bed! Black cashmere Turtleneck and black pencil skirt to emulate dress effect. Cream scarf with tone on tone dots. (Why do I never wear this great scarf?!) Turquoise Coach station bag (tarrago dye DIY).

Love your outfit. I prefer the black coat I think; and I love your scarf. I wore my scarf fastened with a pin today, here's my scarf pics:

Here's my Day 2 scarf outfit. I find the colors of this scarf hard to match so thought it was ideal for this challenge. When I bought it, I thought it would go with a lot of colors but somehow it seems to match nothing. I braided the scarf and really like how this outfit came out.

Goldenpig - I love the graphic cat scarf - it makes your outfit look very playful.

Your scarf is so pretty, GP and how fun that you could go to help out with your daughter. Here is my look from today. This is two days in a row with black blazer on, which usually never happens with me. This leopard print scarf was a birthday gift from hubby. It is pashmina wool and so soft and comfy around my neck.

Oooh Natalie, that kitty print scarf is adorable!
K, the architecture on your dress is really cool; the muted tones of the scarf work very nicely with it.
Sarah A, the white scarf makes your outfit look super crisp, great take on "almost black".
Diane, I am loving the textures you've got in your outfit; it adds a nice touch of luxe.
Sara L, fun braiding technique! I wonder if perhaps that scarf is too warm to play with most of the cool shades you wear? I think you paired it perfectly; warm taupes work sooo well with gray.
Mona, love how the leopard print adds some extra punch to an otherwise moody color palette.

Here's my scarf outfit for the challenge! I have been off my non-silk scarves this season for some reason, even for outerwear, so I wanted to come up with something that used one of my more wintery scarves specifically for indoor wear. This is one of my favorite scarves, cashmere with a b&w houndstooth plaid print; it is simply looped around my neck twice, with the ends sort of tucked into the jacket collar to keep it all in place. It was surprisingly warm today so I could skip an outerwear coat and just button up my denim jacket (which I rarely do). Though work has been cold today, so the denim and scarf have both stayed on all day. I am really happy with how it turned out, and will definitely sport this again with a lighter weight scarf and top in the spring. Thanks for the challenge, Natalie :D

Oh my Natalie - I absolutely love that scarf! Of course, I have a soft spot for kitties but I also adore the colour combination. I think if Kate Spade ever decides to have a maternity line, you could model for her!

I think both coats looks fab - just go with whatever is warmer and most comfortable.

So many pretty outfits with scarves - you have all inspired me to participate in both the dress challenge AND scarf challenge tomorrow!

DD is so cute! I love the scarf -- I like how it gives you a faux v-neck. I have a scarf planned for Friday. I'll post then. (I don't think the scarf I wear to keep the wind out with my winter coat counts ;-)

I already have my look for this challenge tomorrow. Natalie, I did not forget about this one!!!

I've enjoyed everyone's different scarves and ways of wearing them. Here is the link to mine. http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....esday-fail
The scarf is from an art fair and I was told that it is made of pieces from old kimonos.

What wonderful scarves! Will try to participate tomorrow!

Sorry for the late post! I continue to have camera problems. :(

Here's my entry: it's an under-loved navy-and-silver scarf that I don't wear because the pattern is too organic for my tastes these days. So I played off of the silver with a lurex sweater and silver patent accents on my ballet flats.

I go back and forth on whether the semi-tuck is a good idea; any thoughts?

  • Sara L. replied 11 years ago

Charmian - I love your scarf look. I like how the colors of the scarf bring some lightness into the top half of your outfit. The semi-tuck looks good here.
