WIW 10/15 Orange + blue (including retrospective collection)

Orange and blue is one of my absolute favorite color combos! I loved Angie's post today about pairing orange and blue and was inspired to wear that combo today, and to pull out some of my favorite orange and blue outfits from my blog archives. I wear that color combo year round in various shades:
coral with turquoise
ink blue with bright orange
denim with any orange--Dutch orange, pumpkin, rust
rust and cobalt

And of course one of my favorite bags is the Kate Spade orange slice purse that goes with anything blue.

Here is what I wore today, and a look back at some of the many orange and blue outfits I've worn in the past.
(I just realized that today's outfit incorporates all of my favorite designers!)
WHBM ink blue jacket
Anne Fontaine white shirt
Tory Burch cobalt and rust skirt
Chie Mihara blue and green snake pumps
Kate Spade grey croc tote
Alexis Bittar orange leopard pendant
F21 bronze and orange bracelet

Wow, these colours are definitely yours, you rock orange and blue.

There are some stunning outfits in your post.  You look really nice in the orange blue combo and I particularly like the ones that are more saturated for you.  I guess that makes you high contrast.  I hadn't given much thought the the issue of contrast and now think I may have to read up on it.

I absolutely love the orange/blue honeycomb skirt.  If you ever get tired of it, please let me know.  :)

Queen Orange and Blue! You look wonderful in every one of these combinations. I love that split screen photo with Rae -- a perfect copy, right down to the kitties!

Totally dig the retrospective! Today's outfit Is super fab- always love that skirt to death, and I have a thing for amber despite not owning any!

Now THIS is how you wear orange and blue!

All of these look great. You take "matchy-matchy" to a different, more refined level. Your matches show thought and wit.

I really liked the orange and light denim, so unexpected.

I thought I replied to this already?! Oh well, I'm glad I checked back, because i wanted to say that you are the Queen of Complementary Colors, Natalie, and you rock blue and orange together.

  • londonkiwi (now back in NZ) replied 10 years ago

Yes, definitely your colours. Always so stylish.  I particularly like the orange trousers and light blue shirt combo. Reminds me of a post Angie did over summer with a tomato red skirt and blue pinstripe shirt.

I also love how the photo show you in more than one life stage!  You were a very stylish pregnant lady.

Natalie you do have this orange/blue combo perfected.
Love your outfit for the day and I remembered some of the fabulous old ones also.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

How fabulous are you in orange and blue! I loved this retrospective. I remember the orange slice bag and there are also plenty I haven't seen, especially your beautiful pregnancy outfits!
