WIW 11/12: MaryK's blogger challenge Day 1: Yellow, snake and leather

This is from Jessica Quirk's What I Wore blog.
http://whatiwore.tumblr.com/po.....the-editor

I actually had a very similar grey leopard scarf at one point, but I gave it to my sister-in-law because I rarely wear scarves, so I had to use snakeskin instead. And my sleeves wouldn't stay scrunched. Oh well!

Tahari black leather jacket
EmersonMade Queen Bee blouse
Halogen yellow pencil skirt
Gap snakeskin scarf
Ralph Lauren black doctor satchel
All Black fish bow pumps
White House Black Market silver bracelet

    Scarf twin, scarf twin!!!

I LOVE how you used it here!

That is such a great outfit. Seeing it on a pregnant woman is the best treat of all. You look fab.

I've been away from YLF for awhile, but CONGRATS again, goldenpig! Good job with the blogger challenge, too. Can't believe you can pull off the sunshine pencil skirt with baby belly. Hope it's comfy and stretchy at the waist. Hats off! ;)

Why does it come as no surprise that you would bring out a killer outfit for this challenge? The outfit looks amazing, and the bump takes the combo to an awesome tough-meets-adorable level. LOVE!

  • Ingunn replied 11 years ago

Oh, I'm really lusting after that yellow skirt! You look just fab, and the interpretation is excellent. Well done!

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

Very cute! She is a great match with your style. I like your interpretation very much.

  • Marley replied 11 years ago

Natalie! You look gorgeous! Love your interpretation of this look. And that bracelet? Ahhh - I die! Where did you get it!

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

    So pretty, Natalie!

  • Atlantia replied 11 years ago

I love your shoes! So sweet from far away, and when you see them closer they look a little tough.

  • Sylvie replied 11 years ago

Most stylish pregnant woman EVAH! Actually, forget the pregnant modifier, you're just plain stylish!

I have to ask though - for outfits with jackets, do you wear the jacket at work? Do you like the outfit without the jacket if you take it off? For me, jackets are strictly outerwear and I know we're in the same climate. :)

  • Karie replied 11 years ago

You look better than your inspiration pic - love the shoes!

  • Carole replied 11 years ago

Wow, this is great, Natalie! I copied Jessica today, too. I love your version and the shoes, perfection!!!!!

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

Beyond successful, Natalie. You captured the spirit of the outfit too.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

    Fantabulous Ms Shoe Twin!!!

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

You hit that perfectly! Love that Bee blouse, so cute!

  • Lisa replied 11 years ago

Great copycat look. My favorite detail is that you are also wearing a cap toed shoe. I like those shoes a lot!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

I prefer your version. The long scarf does it for me!

  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago

    Thanks everyone!
High five Suz, scarf twin, and Shannon, shoe twin, and Carole, copycat twin! Carole, looks like you are wearing the same exact scarf as Jessica! I love your version too!

Helen, I can't believe I'm still wearing these pencil skirts either. They were slightly large to begin with (the size 6 was roomy) and I hike the waistband up above my belly. I was surprised it was still so comfy to wear. I won't be able to do that much longer though.

Ingunn, the skirt is a Halogen Seamed Pencil Skirt from Nordstrom. They have lots of different colors.

Janet, I agree her style does seem to be rather similar. I never paid attention to fashion blogs much before this challenge but I think I'll start reading some now!

Marley, the hammered metal stretch bracelet was from White House Black Market:

I wear it all the time to "UWP"-ify my outfits.

Thanks everyone for the shoe love--it was an Angie pick. Everyone always loves those shoes when I wear them...the fish scales, cap toe, polka dots, and bow tie are all so unusual together.

Sylvie, I do wear my leather jackets as blazers so I keep them on inside. I wore the scarf and jacket when I was seeing patients in the office, but I took them off to do procedures (and then untucked my blouse to cover my belly). Short and thin jackets I will wear inside but regular coats come off.

RunnerRae, I just noticed that the blouse Jessica was wearing was actually the exact same EmersonMade bee blouse! How fun!

Shevia, I am not used to wearing scarves so this was a fun change for me. I just realized it's good for hiding a belly...should have tried that more first trimester!

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Fantastic! You should teach classes on pregnancy dressing.

  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago

Another copycat twin! Waving at Frogmella!
