WIW 11/5: Winter Tree shirtdress, Frye boots and burgundy tights

It's fall, but it was really warm today (mid 70's and up)! So I wore a sleeveless shirtdress. This outfit feels very fall but is great for warm weather. I bought this Winter Tree Shirtdress at Anthro last fall, and sized up to an 8 because I felt like my normal size 6 was too short lengthwise. Several of you advised me to have it tailored to take in the sides so it wasn't so baggy, but I just wore it belted instead. Well, it's good I was lazy, because now it's still fits and is a great pseudo-maternity dress!

Previously I used to wear my skirts and dresses with knee high boots just with bare legs (I'm anti-pantyhose!), but lately I find I'm wearing tights a lot more now because I want a little extra coverage now that I'm pregnant (since my old skirts and dresses tend to ride higher now that they have to go over the bump). I wasn't sure what color tights to wear with this dress (tried grey and mustard but neither seemed right) so I went with a burgundy (my favorite color of the season!) pair that I just bought. What do you think, do the tights go with the outfit, or is it too garish?

Anthro Winter Tree Shirtdress
Forever 21 brown double-buckle elastic belt
H&M burgundy tights
Frye Melissa brown lace-up boots
Fossil floral satchel
Alexis Bittar orange leopard pendant

It's hard to tell from the photo, but I think the tights look fine. Sometimes things just don't "seem right" when I put them on too, but when something does feel right it probably is. I love the belt and the boots! The necklace looks like it has a bit of burgundy in it, so it ties in with the color of the tights.

I wouldn't have thought it would work, but it seems that it does! You look beautiful in this, and I love your belt!

Not garish at all. I really like this look. There's not a ton of tight showing, just enough to have a nice contrast with the dress. There's the same depth of color which makes it work, imho. Love how you've out this together.

Congrats on your pregnancy, feel well.

This looks fantastic on you Natalie - you are one gorgeous mom-to-be!

That dress looks wonderful on you, Natalie!
I love it with the belt and boots- you look super-stylish.
I think the tights are fine with the boots, but if anything, there's a bit of a seasonal disconnect with rather substantial tights and boots with a sleeveless dress. If you wore a jacket with it there would be no issue.
That may be nit-picking, because you do look fabulous!

I think the tights look great - love tights with boots. How thick are they? I don't feel the seasonal disconnect, but it is hard to tell how heavy the tights are from the pics. Also, it might be a CA thing... I feel like we sometimes create winter through a jacket or pair of tights and nuts to the actual temps outside.

What a fab pseudo maternity dress! I think the tights look good with it, and I like the autumnal colors.

    KILLER

You shine even more brightly now than before. It's that pregnant glow!

Great outfit! I like how the tights add a little pop of color. The boots and dress cover up most of the tights so the color isn't overwhelming or garish.

The tights look great here! They add a bit of color, texture, and extra warmth all at the same time :} I get what others say about the seasonal disconnect, but if it's in the low 70s this looks perfectly appropriate to me.

You are super cute! I know personally I could not pull this look off convincingly but I love this dress and belt combo on you. (I can admire from afar) I really like the departure with your tights in burgundy. Great outfit!

Fantastic! I love everything about this outfit.

I think the burgundy works very well, probably because it harmonizes so well with the rich browns of the accessories.
