WIW 2/1 & 2/2 Studs and Typewriter: Kicking off Handbag Month

Guilty confession...I have blown my entire fashion budget for the year on a few handbags (including the R2D2 bag)! Yes, I do have a handbag addiction problem! In honor of this fact (and to get my mind off no more new clothes purchases) I am going to challenge myself to hug my handbag collection by wearing a different one every day this month!

1-3. Michael Kors Astor black studded satchel. This is probably my most used handbag and is a staple of all my "edgy" looks. It's going to be tough not to fall back on the old standby the rest of the month!
Halogen black plaid tweed moto
Target zip shirt
AG burgundy snake skinnies
Frye black boots
WHBM burgundy snake bracelet

4-6. Kate Spade All Typed Up Clyde typewriter satchel
I was so excited when I found this on a Kate Spade surprise sale a few years ago. I haven't used it in a while, but how could I not bring this fun baby out for a spin?! It makes everyone smile when they see it. The kids love to type their names on the buttons. And I love playing up the typewriter buttons with a matchy matchy polka dot skirt, necklace and bracelet. Also transitioned from red pumps for work, to red Converse for MOTG.

Pleione black shirt
Vince Camuto polka dot tube midi skirt
Kate Spade polka dot bracelet
WHBM polka dot necklace
Katie & Kelley red pumps (DSW)
Red Converse

Oooh....I like this. What use is a handbag addiction if you don't get to flaunt each baby!

Love both these bags, Natalie. They're so perfect with the outfit. I love the lace-up boots!

OH!  I so look forward to these posts.  If you have the chance, could you also show a closeup of the bag itself?

And your two personas from day 1 to day 2 are so very different.  I tend to lean toward day 2 because everything melds together so beautifully.

I would love to join you in this particular challenge, but my work day kinda dictates what bag I need to carry that day (it is a computer/file thing).  I only own five bags that suit that purpose so I am very limited to those five bags during the work week.  BUT I can make sure I use a different purse each day I am NOT going to the office.  THIS is brilliant, GoldenPig.

Both great looks--I love the shade of red in your pants in 1; they look fab paired with the black. And look 2 is just brilliant. I love how you styled all these elements, right down to the Converse. Brava! Both looks are great on you, well proportioned, creative, and fun. I look forward to your bag posts. I'm chronically late and feel like I never have time to switch out bags, so I only have a couple. Maybe you'll inspire me to get past my one 'warm season' and one 'cold season' bag problem!

Great post, great bags and great outfits! I look forward to following your challenge!

What a fun challenge! I join you in your handbag obsession/addiction. Great idea to spread the love around and to give each of your lovelies its own special day to shine. I love both of your outfits -- different looks but both still very much you. The typewriter satchel is a show stealer. Can't wait to see R2D2 in action!

What a splendid idea! These two outfits are already winners. So different, but both so YOU. :D

I'm curious to see your whole collection! Nice outfits, and that typewriter bag is too cute.

I have too many clutches. At least they are slim and easy to store. ;-)

I completely understand blowing your budget on handbags -- that's my weakness, too.  These are great outfits, and I can't wait to see more!

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

Nice looks!  I've always been more into shoes than bags, but I enjoy seeing the bags that others are using.  This is fun challenge and I look forward to seeing more of your bags.

I make easy changes after work for MOTG as well.  Usually changing the bottom of my outfit with different pants or shoes.

The typewriter bag/whole outfit  is so cute. I am now curious to see how you are going to do matchy matchy with the R2D2 bag.

  • Beth Ann replied 8 years ago

That's a great way to have fun with fashion!  It will likely help you create new outfit combinations as you "harmonize" with the bag.

These are terrific.  Love you in bold dots!

I just LOVE what you did with #3 and #4. Nice Sporty Luxe switcheroo.

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

You got the R2D2 bag?  I may get a BB8 one too!  I get so many comments on it, including women asking if it's a Marc Jacobs.  !!!  I adore the typewriter bag so much.  You rock!

Did you notice how expensive that bag is on Ebay?  If you ever want to sell it, put my name down!

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

FUN, especially that last outfit with the Chucks ^^

  • Bonnie replied 8 years ago

Wow!!! I love both bags and your outfits.

  • Elizabeth P replied 8 years ago

Oh, this is going to be FUN! You're off to a great start!
I got a new handbag myself... Must get it in circulation.

  • deb replied 8 years ago

You have the best handbag collection. Can hardly wait to see the new ones. Love both of these outfits.

  • goldenpig replied 8 years ago

    Thanks everyone!
I would love it if others want to join in the handbag challenge...wear all your bags, whatever that number may be. Sterling, you should do a week of different work bags! Elizabeth, let's see your new bag! And Janet's clutches!

I loved your R2D2 bag Una! I had to copycat. I was thinking about getting a BB8 too but it looks like the BB8 bag is sold out. :( At least I did get a BB8 wallet... LOL at the Marc Jacobs comments! It's a head turner for sure. I haven't gotten a chance to use it yet because DS2 claimed it the second he saw it, and he's been carrying all his toys around in "his" R2D2 purse. I also got a Totoro backpack but DD took that one.

Sara, I agree with you, I'm all about changing out the shoes for flats/sneakers for MOTG. I find that my pump tolerance has gone way down and I hardly ever wear them, or bring something to swap into but just end up wearing the flats all day!
