I've had this T shirt (1) with three kitties eating/swimming in ramen for so long it's pretty faded, but I like it because it reminds me of my three kids. They all love noodles. My middle one especially has always been a noodle boy, he liked noodles so much we made it the theme of his first birthday party! We went to Japan this summer to celebrate our daughter's high school graduation (17-20) and ate ramen several times, once was at a ramen place in Tokyo that was mentioned in the Michelin guide, and another where you have to order the ramen from a fancy vending machine and get a ticket to give to the cook, and in Kyoto we stayed at a ryokan (traditional style Japanese inn) where you wore kimonos inside the hotel and we had a special shabu shabu hot pot dinner. I also have a Tokidoki shirt with Sandy eating ramen (2), I've worn that for ages too. I wore it at the Michelin ramen restaurant too (18). It was such a fun trip!
I am trying to dip my toes in the barrel jeans trend, which I had never heard of until now, because I've been gone for ten years. Come to find out they've been around for a while (so are they now on their way out before I've had a chance to try them?). I have a couple pairs which I've tried on, one Daze blue denim (3-7) and one Allsaints black coated denim (8-12) but not sure what I'm doing or how these look on me and if they're too baggy and if I should keep or return? Fortunately I bought them from Nordstrom so I have some time to decide. I have a few more pairs on order in case those look better on me (see Finds below). There were even versions with flowers, hearts, leopard print! There was a pair of snakeskin print barrel jeans too but I also ordered a bootcut snakeskin pair because I'm still not used to this look and unsure whether barrel jeans work for apples. Are there specific barrel jeans should I try and which colors/washes are best (if the ones below don't look good)?
