Call it whatever you like, as long as you like it! If it helps, I have remained unpegged as well. I know what I like, and now that I've taken the time to think through purchases better, a lot of it is working together, unlike in the past. That's good enough for me :)

This is a slightly "tough" look on you--- i like it! Bombshell UWP?

  • Elly replied 12 years ago

Also--- look at that waist! (cat calls and wolf whistles!)

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Elly! High five! Bombshell UWP is EXACTLY what I was going for but I didn't know if that also was an oxymoron like Demure Bombshell! :)

    Urban Warrior Bombshell!!

Replacing the romantic/pretty/flowy Princess persona, with the more retro/hourglass Bombshell personality.

Can you see me grinning from here? Because I swear my smile is that big. :D

Nice switch-up! I like UWP because it has so many possible directions. I guess all styles do...

I love the boots and the jacket. What a great outfit!

Honestly, I get really confused with all of this style talk. I honestly think it is not the clothes what defines the style of the wearer, but rather the other way around, especially when it comes to more classic pieces. This is why an item of clothing is not going to look the same on you than on me. I am not as eloquent as most of you beautiful ladies, but I will try to illustrate with an example.

For instance, I have that very same pencil skirt, similar boots, jacket and ruffled top. If I was to replicate your outfit, I can guarantee you that the outfit is going to look much more different on me than on you. You will see a big hint of bombshell but not a hint of UWP. I think I have a much more classic style persona.

This is why Angie's pencil skirt post (on the bombshell definition), resonated with me. As you can see, Angie transmits an extremely well honed and refined style personality thru her clothes. She always looks elegant, polished and refined, irrelevant of what she wears.

Going back to your post, if I analyze the clothes on their own, all I can see, since your closet is quite new, is classic pieces adjusted for current trends: i.e. colored pencil skirts, ruffles, lace up boots etc. It is your personality what transforms the clothing into a true style. If you feel like bombshell, run with it and explore it fully!

Oooh Zap, I must see your version of this outfit!!!

You always look very ladylike to me. More Vivien Leigh than Marilyn Monroe.

  • Lisa replied 12 years ago

I don't know what style this is, but it is surely one fab outfit. I like the edge the boots bring to the classic pencil skirt.

    I call it GORGEOUS!

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

That blue is so great on you. I like Rae's urban warrior bombshell!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

    Very lovely on you!!

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

You are a Cheerful Fashionista who has fun with fashion! End of story :)

I'm loving the boots, GP. You look amazing and it's been interesting to see your style evolve in such a short period of time. You've really come a long way and you should be proud of yourself. No need for a label because you know that it's you! :)

Go Natalie! Another success! Love this. UWB!

  • Sveta replied 12 years ago

UWB! It is perfect! This is quiet a progress from Demure, don't you think?
You can be Demure Bombshell one day and UWB another and this switch may be so much fun! As soon as they think they figured you out you surprise them again!

Zap, you are really spot on with your observation that it's the wearer rather than the clothes that creates the style. Check out my comparison of me and Una:

(I still am dying to see you in your version of this outfit!)

Rae--I love the term Urban Warrior Bombshell! Will have to explore UWB further!

Angie, Cheerful Fashionista makes me smile! I guess I could never be one of those pouty models/bloggers because I don't take myself that seriously!
