WIW 2/27: Daytime sparkle and cream trench

Given Angie's post today about daytime sparkle, I thought I'd break out the black and white geometric sequin tank I bought at White House Black Market. It's too bare to wear by itself at work, but I put the WHBM cream and black contrast trench over it (got the idea from their website). Add Gap Really Skinny pants and the All Black cream and black Fishbow pumps and I'm all set! You can barely see the sequins with the jacket on, but I know it's there! Party in my head! :)

I love your use of color, but this black/white outfit is just as fab. I still want to see the sequins though - do you have another white/black topper that might show them off?

Sweet! Are you going to wear the jacket all day?

You are right on trend! :-) So cute and this is a perfect outfit to go with that trench, which I love. I love the shoes that you have one, but it would also be fun with some bright yellow (or another bright color) shoes!

Lovely Natalie - so will you wear the trench all day like a blazer?
How are you finding the fish bow shoes? Aren't they fab?

Yum, yum, yum! Very Chanel! Would that tank layer over a button-front shirt or PB blouse? You might get more occasions to wear it. :)

    Your outfit is adorable!
All the pieces in your WIW are wonderful selections and so versatile!
Did Angie's article give you courage to wear the sequins? It did for me, cuz I bought a Ralph Lauren cotton tank, olive green with gold sequins, over the holidays, and had no clue how to wear it, or if I would have the gumption! Now I need a white blouse and will layer the tank. You inspire me, gp.

Great trench and tank. But if it is cool enough for the trench is it warm enough for the tank? Regardless you look fab.

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

Fab combination, Natalie! That is one amazing trench, and you know I like those sequins a whole bunch. And love the shoes --- how well they coordinate! SUCH a well put-together outfit.

Thanks everyone! Yes Denise, I was inspired by Angie's post to use the sequin top. Unfortunately you can't see the sequins that well under the trench but I kept the trench on all day because I thought the tank by itself was too revealing for work. I also kept it buttoned and tied because I think it looks neater that way. Thanks Claire, I had never thought of putting another shirt underneath it and using it like a vest. I will have to experiment with that! I wonder what it would look like with my black or white Anne Fontaine blouses underneath. Hi shoe twin Shannon, yes these fish bow pumps are super fun! You rocked them so well you inspired me to get a pair. And they are low enough heels and the toes are roomy enough to be comfy all day. LOL Zapotee, I am always looking for *lower* heels and can never find enough pretty mid-heel shoes. Jem, that would be fun to pair the sequins with bright color shoes. Maybe even my red cardigan and red Converse!
