WIW 2/4: Pinterest Told Me To Blardigan copycat

Hey y'all!!!! You are SO going to get a kick out of this copycat. I found this blog Pinterest Told Me To after it was recommended on my mommy board. O.M.G.!!!! This lady Sheaffer is a RIOT. She is like a modern day Valley Girl. Totally AWESOME!!! Her plot reviews of the Bachelor (Hola, Huhwahan Pablo!) are like sneaking into a tub of chocolate coconut ice cream at midnight (BTW, these mocha almond dark chocolate dipped bars are to die for! Don't blame me. You're welcome.). I found myself LOL'ing, and I don't even watch this show! Can you say GUILTY PLEASURE???

And I couldn't help copying her and running right out to buy one of her entire MUST HAVE outfits. Yep, that's right. Ev. Ur. E. Thing. The whole enchilada. I'm such a total LEMMING. But it's not my fault! Sheaffer told me to!

SO without any more ado, here is the Blardigan! (I see that we've even discussed it here at YLF before!) I normally hate those Brangelina smoosh words like swacket and jeggings too, but this one is so fun to say (sorry IK!). Blardigan. Part blanket, part cardigan. It is sooo soft and cozy. I have been wearing this Every.Single.Night as a comfy lounge robe. For Weeks On End. I only washed it when DS1 climbed into my bed in the middle of the night and then threw up on me. Occupational hazards of being a mom, right ladies? But sorry to disappoint y'all, I am SO NOT showing it styled like the Nordie's catalog pic (#6)!  Except maybe on Valentine's Day for DH. ;)

I could not resist a matchy matchy Pinterest copycat (#1) and copied her HEAD.TO.TOE with the black blouse, cognac boots, and ripped jeans. Because I roll that way. You know I love doing blogger copycats and you know I have been prone to ripping off entire outfits from the catalog before. So here it is, folks. Ha! I managed to wear a Snuggie out of the house and get away with it! Comfy MOTG style. Matchy Matchy me even tried to copy her pose and peppy smile (my dimples are no match for hers), but after a while I just couldn't do it anymore--my cheeks hurt (#3)! And oops, excuse the diapers in the background. I guess that's why I couldn't do a real fashion blog. At least they're clean! ;)

You can find the Barefoot Dreams chic lite wrap HERE.
And the original Pinterest Told Me To post about the blardigan HERE.
She names the blardigan a MUST HAVE HERE.
And here's the must have Pleione mixed media shirt, must have Vigoss ripped skinny jeans, and must have Miz Mooz cognac wedge boots too (40% off folks! This won't last long! And it fits skinny calf me--score!)
I don't have the same pendant as she does, but THIS lucite Alexis Bittar pendant (#4) is a great substitute.

So there you have it, y'all. Hope you enjoyed me channelling Sheaffer from PTMT. SUUUUPEERRR FUNNN!!!!! Now back to our regular programming!
XOXO,
GP

    GP, you're too funny.

Great boots.  And a few clean diapers never hurt anyone.  :)

  • ramya replied 10 years ago

GP I was laughing just reading your post. I am so gonna follow this blog.
Love the boots and the necklace

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Rachy - I started the YLF blardigan thread!!  I found the bloggers site through one of the review links on the Nordies site but I did not do a lot of reading.  Sounds like a fun blog to check out!!  So we are lemmings!!  I love my blardigan so much that I just bought the blanket for my bed - so soft and warm!!  Happy!!  You look fantastic in your!!  I love it with a black tunic, leggings and boots.  Cozy chic at it's finest!!  Enjoy!!

You are too funny! Now I have to go check her blog.
I like your outfit and the many adventures that your blardigan already went trough.

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

Thanks April, Ramya, Gryffin, and Celia! Sheaffer has such a cute and cheerful "love, your BFF" writing style that it was fun to channel her. Gryffin, I'm flattered that you thought I was Rachylou, since she's one of the funniest posters here--I love her witty way with words! Glad you like your blardigan too. I didn't see the blanket...now that I will have to check out! Celia--love it...maybe we should call it Adventures of a Momigan!

Too funny.   If I put one of those on it would never come off my body again, too comfy.  Plus I'd be stuck to my seat because my cats would refuse to leave my lap.

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

I love seeing the blardigan in action, especially when it's part of an outfit this cute!

I managed to avoid buying one of these when I saw it in the first thread, and hopefully I will again, since I'm afraid that, if I had one, I'd basically never wear anything else again.

  • ironkurtin replied 10 years ago

You look adorable and I forgive you for using that awful word.

  • Peri replied 10 years ago

    Oh cr@p!!!!

Now I want one! I'm not kidding, I really do. I'm not that much of a lemming but between you and her this is killing me! Seriously.

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

Lol. I have to say, you Blardigan well.

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

Thanks Rabbit, my two cats do love the wrap too. I do have to be careful to hang it up and not to set it down because then it becomes a cat bed.
Aubergine...it does come in burgundy too...just sayin'...
    http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ba.....rsonalized
And I do wear it all the time, over my 10 year old dive tees and PJ bottoms, so it's kind of an upgrade to my look, LOL!
Dana, fantabulous! Glad you're chillax about it! I was worried you might curse me with speaking in Portmanteauese forever!
Peri...you won't regret it! GP told you to!
    Thanks Rachy!

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

You look fantastic in your boho/RATE/copycat look!

  • abc replied 10 years ago

I absolutely loved this post. So funny!!!

I can totally relate to diapers randomly lying around and mommyhood (puke and all) the need for something like a blardigan!

    Thanks for the smiles.

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

    You are hilarious!!!!

And I am so glad you posted this. I have been looking at the Blardigan, believe it or not, and wondering if it would be just too darn long on me...I want something exactly like this for the loungewear capsule. Okay. Off to read the links. Maybe we'll be blardigan twinnies as well as sweater twinnies!!

  • Jewell replied 10 years ago

You are so funny! I missed the original posting on the blardigan and was thinking to myself that it was one of those tops that looks like a blouse under a cardigan when it's really just one piece.  Thanks for enlightening me!

Great copycat outfit! Your necklace is way prettier. And I can totally relate to the kiddie-induced laundering. So many times DD2 has snotted up a clean shirt by pressing her runny nose into my chest or sleeve :-)

  • Debra replied 10 years ago

I love this :) and want one too :) great post, hilarious, still giggling.

  • unfrumped replied 10 years ago

Okay,  now my only dilemma is red vs. purple vs. ombre. You guys rock the ombre so it's in the lead. Because otherwise I'm in my LLBean fleece bathrobe anyway. Just sayin'.

  • Sara L. replied 10 years ago

So funny!  I love your blardigan outfit but I won't be copycatting you.  I can't wear those types of cardigans without feeling like I'm in my bathrobe all day (not in a comfy cozy sort of way, but in an  eh-I-couldn't-be-bothered-to-get-dressed sort of way).  I love the look on others though.

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

I have stayed away from this thread because I knew the pull of the blardigan would be irresistible. Dang it! You are hilarious, Natalie! And stylish as can be in a blanket with sleeves.

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Oh goldenpig!!  So sorry, where was my head!!  Of course I recognized gorgeous you, mom of Miss Scarlet, and the divinely adorable kiddos, but I was totally rolling over your post.  It was definitely a freudian slip and I mean that in the most flattering way possible.  Lately every post of Rachylou's is a total howler and well you were really on a fabulous comedic jag so my little mind must have blanked out!!  Of course, now that I know you are so stupendously amusing too, I may accidentally call Rachylou,  goldenpig next time I find her hilarious!!  Such are the trials of the over 50 brain!!   ;-)

  • Parsley replied 10 years ago

Natalie, I love that you not only have done the copycat pose, but even the writing style of that blogger!
You are so funny, and so very creative!

Well, I have to admit that I have that very same cardigan, and I have also been living in it just about 24/7! That is, when I'm not wearing my Barefoot Dreams CozyChic robe. That cardigan (sorry, I just can't bring myself to use the B word) has been the most wonderful thing that's ever happened to my loungewear capsule. I haven't worn mine out of the house yet, but never say never!
I'm really lusting after the blanket, and maybe a throw for the sofa...
That knit fabric is the comfiest EVER!

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

So funny! I'm going to have to check out her blog. The sweater looks fantastic on you!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

So I admit to trying this on at lunch and it was just too long for me. Also staticky. Saved! But so glad you all can wear and love it.

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

If it's long, probably no way it would work on me. Too bad -- don't they know short people love to lounge too?

  • JAileen replied 10 years ago

Super funny post! I like your matchy matchy tendencies, and you do match the blogger almost exactly (minus her crazy expression). Your husband will really enjoy Valentine's Day!
