WIW 3/23: Sassy snakeskin sneakers and skirt, plus fabulous flapper frock with feather and faux-bob

Really having fun with fashion today!

During the day I wore my new wedge sneakers, the Skechers with the snakeskin pattern and studs on the back. (more closeup pics in my K/R post: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....e-sneakers) Did the matchy matchy and paired it with my Target snakeskin skirt. Also wearing a new bracelet--very UWP vibe in my mind. This was a casual but comfy outfit for a very busy MOTG day--ballet, kid's birthday party, taking DD to chess class and the two younger boys to the mall during her class. What do you think of the new sneakers--does it look like I'm trying too hard to be young and trendy or did I pull it off?

In the evening, DH and I went to DD's school fundraiser auction dinner, which had a 1920's speakeasy theme. Everyone dressed up as flappers and gangsters. DH went all out and ordered a fake replica tommy gun, pocket watch, vintage looking tie, and fedora. I wore a beaded flapper dress, slip, black opera gloves, bronze pearls, and feather headband. I also pinned my hair up to create a faux bob. It was our first time being away from the baby--our nanny watched all three kids and said that the baby did just fine drinking bottles of pumped milk. It was fun to dress up with DH--reminds me of the time we went to my office Wild Wild West party:

DH bought a fake gun for that one too...seems he really likes to dress up in costume as long as there are fake weapons involved, LOL!

So much fun! I think the wedge sneakers works really well and great matchy matchy. DD in #6 is adorable. Fab 1920s outfits too. DH really looks like the guy you don't want to mess with. Isn't it great to have some adult time, too? :-)

As always your style wows me. You and your dh are soo cute and formal and fun! The cons are not my thing but they look surprisingly good with the skirt!

    Great easy sassy outfit.

But the second one has me drooling. I love the bob, love the dress, the styling, everything. This length of skirt is great on you. Gorgeous.

Natalie, I don't know what amazes me more, your energy or your fabulous fashion.  You and your husband are the most adorable gangster and moll ever!  And the first outfit is way fun.  And you just gave birth!  You are my hero!!!

You look beyond amazing! Mi don't know how you do it!  Two weeks post partum, and you are light years ahead of where I was at 3 months!  S glad you are feeling energetic, and your happiness just radiates!  That is the best accessory of all!

You are too much! I love the sassy sneaks with the python skirt! I was not expecting you to be such a beguiling flapper. I love that dress. It looks like you both had so much fun. ( I want to be a flapper too!)

I love your new sneakers, and they look fantastic with your outfit. Looks like you had a great time dressing up with the '20's theme, too!

Amazingly stunning!  I love having you back on the forum with your inspiration and looks!

OMG! You two are soooooo cute! I am waving at my matchy snake sister, but your 20s outfits take the cake. Hm... next time there is a 20s party, I tell DH he can have a fake weapon. :)
  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago
Thanks everyone! It was fun to have a "date" with DH, even if it was a school function. The baby did fine and drank two bottles of pumped milk and slept while we were gone! It was a lot of fun dressing up in the 20's theme. Rae, maybe you and your DH should do a 20's theme rock video!

The wedge sneaks were OK, but not quite as comfy as flat sneakers, obviously. The price we pay for fashion! At least I didn't spend a lot on them! Still fun!

I didn't have time to comment before and say how fab I thought this outfit was! Also you and DH are so good at costumes! That is so nice that you have a babysitter you know and trust. I guess I waited too long and we cannot convince baby to take a bottle. He needs to learn pretty soon because I am going back to work!
