WIW 3/29: Custo Barcelona inspiration

I was inspired by Angie's post yesterday where she translated Custo Barcelona's runway look to real life:
http://youlookfab.com/2012/03/.....barcelona/
So I thought I'd give it a shot myself! Would never have come up with this combo myself--thanks Angie and Custo for the inspiration!

Anthro Dots Within emerald green blouse with cream/navy dots
Halogen leather trim black pencil skirt
Tahari black leather jacket with ruched collar and suede panel details
Jason Wu for Target cream straw handbag with navy trim
All Black Fish Bow pumps, cream fish scales with black trim (I already had the shoes in her post!)
Michael Kors cream and gold snakeskin belt
(I also have a more subdued H&M black braided belt in #7-9 if you think the snakeskin belt is too much--which one do you prefer?)

Absolutely gorgeous Natalie - a 10 from me!

  • AJ replied 12 years ago

Oh very nice! I like the black belt better. It makes the skirt look high waisted which makes for a longer leg line.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

I second Shannon's opinion. This is undoubtedly a 10! Love the belt and how it ties in with the shoes. The jacket gives "edge". The blouse is gorgeous and feminine but still strong. The skirt is sleek and the bag is so nicely structured! I just googled that lovely blouse and see that it is no longer available. I'm sad!! :(

I also like the black belt but the snakeskin is bold! Love your spin on the look. It works!

Gorgeous, Natalie! I like it with both belts. AJ is correct about the leg line but I also like the way the snakeskin echoes the shoes. Lovely textures! You have so many beautiful items in your closet!

Another Olympic 10 from this judge! Perfect from head to toe.

So beautiful, Natalie! Don't think I've seen you in this blouse before, and you look simply gorgeous. I too prefer the black belt by a tiny little margin; and those shoes and that bag are to die for!

    *swoon*

I love this, Natalie! Love the blouse, the shoes, the bag. . . whole outfit is fab! I wouldn't mind going to the doctor's office if my doctor looked this good!

And what a little cutie posing with you. . .

    FABULOUS!

  • rachylou replied 12 years ago

I love the way you've put all these things together. Lot of pattern/texture/ornamentation to work so fab ensemble!

  • krishnidoux replied 12 years ago

Either belt is AB.SO.LU.TE.LY fab and to die for! Wow! And wow again. My personal preference goes for the snakeskin belt. Look at those shoes! So much style. At first I thought they were oxford flats but no, they are heeled, even better (in my book)! This shirt is just the perfect quirky, lively, stylish addition to the skirt and blazer. The skirt is of perfect length too.

This is a great outfit! Either belt works for me, I kind of like the streamlined look of the black one a bit more but in any case, this gives you an opportunity to switch things up a bit if you decide to wear this combo again.

Love it. The shirt is a beautiful color and print. I think the outfit without the jacket is very bombshell in a sexy secretary sort of way. It could be a good date outfit too with a heel.

  • Sona replied 12 years ago

fab Natalie! Doc, you look gorgeoussssssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

  • Tanya replied 12 years ago

    Stunning! Great interpretation for sure.

    Vavoom, GP! You look smashing!

  • annagybe replied 12 years ago

    You did well. Very cool.

  • Sunita replied 12 years ago

I haven't read the other responses, but I'm totally in love with this interpretation! That's a drop-dead gorgeous blouse and the color does wonders for you. I prefer the snakeskin belt myself...

  • catgirl replied 12 years ago

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! And love the little one too!

  • Parsley replied 12 years ago

This outfit looks just fabulous on you, Natalie! I love the snakeskin belt with it- it echoes the shoes, and just adds a little more interest and pizzazz. Love that handbag, too! Well, love everything, actually...
    FANTASTIC outfit!

You did an incredible job with your inspiration! I love the snakeskin belt for the texture and I love the black belt for the way it makes your skirt look high-waisted. You look awesome, Natalie!

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

This is a GORgeous outfit Natalie, and you look fab in it! I prefer the snakeskin belt but I loves me some pattern mixing :) That pencil midi is just too perfect on you.

  • elpgal replied 12 years ago

Love this combo, GP. You are so adept at this. I prefer the snakeskin belt because it is a nice transition between the blouse and skirt whereas the black one seems more like an extension of the skirt .
