WIW 4/11 Polar Bear Clutch for Una

Una asked me to post my polar bear clutch. I have so many bags I've been working through them since February! I've given up trying to use a different one each day (too difficult), but my goal is still to get through all of them. Now I'm down to novelty clutches, which I'm finding are really challenging to use in real life! They're so cute, but so teeny! I ended up having to carry my normal sized white satchel for work and just used the clutch for going out to dinner. It held my phone (barely because I have an iPhone 6 plus), one car key on the keychain, and a popsicle coin purse with one credit card and my lipstick. That's it, and I could barely close it! But I went out to dinner with two other women doctors in my practice and they absolutely loved the clutch!

So, moral of the story is, I need to stop buying cute tiny purses. But I love them so much and Kate is making it so hard for me to resist! I still have a camera and ice cream truck to show you!

For the outfit, I really wanted to wear the tulle skirt with this grey sweater (see prior tulle skirt post) but I felt kind of ridiculous going to work in a tulle skirt (not that MOTG in a tulle skirt is any less ridiculous) so I went with white culottes instead, which kind of gave the same vibe. Will wear the tulle skirt next time! Also feeling a little worried that the grey sweater is too form fitting for my apple belly, but I'm never going to have the perfect body, so I'll settle for sucking it in a little for WIWs, LOL. I wore the Kate Spade "Clink of Ice" necklace which I also got on sale to match the polar bear ice theme. And of course the polar bear keychain and popsicle coin purse.

ETA: adding a few more fish and seahorse pics for Eliza and Joy! And my fuzzy polar bear for Rachy. I don't have any fish shaped coin purses, but I do have a fishbowl coin purse, does that count? I had to dig out my old Paul Frank and Gama-Go collection. I'm realizing now that Kate Spade is kind of like the grown up version of Paul Frank! Maybe I should start using some of those bags too? Think I can get away with it? I'll pull out a few and see what you think!

That clutch is a work of art, so who cares if it's not practical :)  And you've styled it perfectly.  The popsicle coin purse is a touch of genius!

Soooo pretty! But I agree...that size - so NOT practical

How cute that is. I did not realize you can see through the bag.

What a fun post to read.  I have to say, one of my favourite things is how you can laugh at yourself... esp your addiction to impractical clutches.  No promises to stop, just a "this is me!".  Love it.  Your sweater doesn't look too form fitting to me, at all.  And I love that your Popsicle purse really IS a Popsicle purse... not sure what I was expecting from the description, but I LOL'd when I saw the picture.

Anyway great outfit... And I look forward to the camera clutch :)

That clutch is too much! I want to see it with a fish shaped coin purse inside, because I am just that ridiculous. You look great!

Your matchy matchy WIWs always make me smile :)

I love your accessories!  Great outfit as always.

Love the outfit and Love Love the clutch. I love that what you put in the clutch was so cute.
I'm working over my need to carry my entire life with me, so I can't imagine being able to use something like this, but it is a treat to see it. Thanks for the post.

    Wait...is it glass?

Thanks for posting - of course I love it!

    Rachy, it's resin.

I can see why Una wanted it so bad. Cute clutch, cute outfit!

  • Joy replied 1 year ago

Fun! I want to see a fish coin purse in the polar bear clutch too.

  • JAileen replied 1 year ago

    Joy, sort of like this?

That clutch is adorable! I love the coin purse to go inside. Nice outfit too, the white and grey are a good combo.

This is too much - I love it.  Winnipeg is home to the largest northern mammal  exhibit in the world. It's part of our Zoo, and is a beautiful home to several polar bears that have been either rescued as orphans, or born to one of the few remaining bears in captivity.  They are just beautiful, frightening, gorgeous and awe inspiring animals and never fail to delight.  I see them often , as I have books I sell to the Zoo Giftshop.....and am smiling at the vision of going into to see the buyers proudly displaying this little purse.  It is so cute!  I need one.

And your outfit is , as usual, beautifully thought out and accessorized. Everything here is just lovely.

Neat! I kept thinking the polar bear clutch was fuzzy...lol

What an amazing clutch! Thank you for posting it. Kate does indeed make it hard to resist. I have no clutches and am trying to decide on one to buy. It may just have to be a Kate one, despite the price...

I don't think that the sweater is too form fitting at all. And I like the culottes, especially with the lace-up pointy-toes.

You're taking matchy matchy to a new level! This is too cute, too fun and absolutely adorable. And you look fab as always. :-) Clever to wear the culettos instead of tulle skirt. You get a similar effect, but reads more work appropriate and «reliable» than fun-romantic-tulle.

Thanks everyone! Lisa, polar bears are so graceful and amazing!

OK, adding a few more fish and seahorse pics for Eliza and Joy!

And Rachy, you are right, I do also have a fuzzy polar bear clutch! Elizabeth is right, I do know I have a cute clutch problem but am totally unapologetic/unable to do anything about it! #sorrynotsorry

Love that! Thanks for indulging us. I just found a small leather penguin coin purse in a drawer that I forgot I had.

    That clutch is great!

I love the polar bear clutch.  So adorable.  Great outfit.  The shoes look perfect with your culottes.  I also love your hair.
