WIW 4/2-3: Rust orange and blue three ways!

When Sylvie posted about the her purchase of the Tory Burch Radnor rust and cobalt skirt, I was inspired to pull mine out again! I also love the color combo of rust orange and blue, and decided to try some different outfits with the same color combo--kind of a mini-theme. Plus I got a few more unworn pieces into the mix!

1. 4/2 to work
White House Black Market ink blue jacket--this is the first time wearing the jacket unbuttoned, but I wanted to showcase the striped top. Dianthus just reminded me that it's a peplum style, a la Angie's blog post today!
Classiques Entier blue/cream/brown striped tie neck sleeveless shell
ASOS rust pleated midi skirt (first time wearing--I finally got around to steaming out the wrinkles)
WHBM blue snakeskin Mary Jane pumps (they're fairly stable/sturdy for stilettos but I still wish they came in a lower/chunkier heel because tall spiky heels are NMS!)
Kate Spade grey croc tote
Forever 21 bronze/orange bracelet

2. 4/2 evening casual
Tulle rust orange hooded peacoat (from the junior's section at Nordstrom)
INC purple ribbed turtleneck from Macy's (first time wearing)
Paige Hidden Hills bootcut dark blue jeans (first time wearing after getting them hemmed). Although they're very snug--I think I gained a couple pounds and now muffin is spilling over the top :(
Fossil velvet floral satchel
Alexis Bittar orange disc pendant
La Canadienne Galaxy brown suede wedge boots (so comfy, especially after wearing those stilettos all day!)

3. 4/3 to work (I know I've posted this combo before but this is one of my favorite outfits, and it works really well so I'm posting the repeat! I switched out the grey hose for navy polka dot hose and added a new bracelet, so it's not exactly the same)
Halogen black plaid wool zip peacoat
INC rust mock turtleneck top (20 years old!)
Tory Burch Radnor rust and cobalt honeycomb pattern skirt
Forever 21 navy polka dot tights (gift from mom)
Chie Mihara rust suede high heel sandals
WHBM blue jewel bracelet

Rust orange is one of my new faves, and orange and blue is my all time favorite color combination. Great looks all three, but I especially love the sassy orange jacket in number 2!

Great outfits as always, Natalie, but I especially love #1. So vibrant with the contrasting colours and the patterned blouse! Somehow feels like a lot of movement there...

  • Diana replied 12 years ago

All three looks are fab, Natalie, but I partiularly love #1!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 12 years ago

These three outfits look great Natalie. I want to steal that entire outfit in #1! And I love the jacket in #2.

Love the color combination. Rust was my aunt's favorite color (I know - who picks that?) but I have liked it ever since.
Your flair is obvious in all the outfits - a pop of a bracelet, the disc necklace, the pattern on skirt three. Just feminine with some spunk and authority.

These are all great! My fave is #1!

I think they are all fab too but #1 is getting love from me. Did you notice that the jacket has a peplum style to it a la the blog of the day?

Are you enjoying SYC? You are making some gorgeous outfits and playing with toys that you hadn't had the chance to enjoy up to now.

From the heading I thought I wouldn't like this combo, but it looks fantastic the way you show it. Props.

That color combination is always so fab on you. I have a new shopping goal now - to find a rust top so I can be a Radnor skirt copycat.

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

    I love them all! :)

  • kellygirl replied 12 years ago

Gorgeous x 3! I especially love the skirt in 3!

  • jayne replied 12 years ago

Holey (%& what wonderful outfits. Hmmm, wondering if imposed mortatorium (sp?) on shopping has inspired your outfits. These are very well put together and look lovely on you!

  • catgirl replied 12 years ago

Beautiful looks, all of them. I love your new photo collage thingies!

  • harmonica replied 12 years ago

OMG! Totally totally in love with all 3! If I had to choose a favorite, i had to be #1

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

You are such an inspiration. I love all of these.

  • cciele replied 12 years ago

I love your outfit -- you always look so well put-together. And the orange/blue combo is divine :)

  • Mona replied 12 years ago

rust orange is my all time favourite and you take it to the new level with blue.

  • replied 12 years ago

#1 is gorgeous, divine, stunning, etc! Literally. Drool worthy. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up from my laptop.

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

All outfits are wonderful, luxe and rich. Is it cold in SF?

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

Beautiful X 3. Love these colors together and the luxe elements in all.

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

LOVE! Especially #1 and #2. You look spectacularly well put together. And that blue jacket is just the best thing ever on you.

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

All great, I especially love the skirts.

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Thanks everyone for the kind words! I am glad outfit #1 is getting so much love! That jacket works wonders on my outfits! And one thing I am learning from YLF is how much fun it is to explore new color combinations...I am inspired by the creativity of all you ladies in brights and color blocked outfits!

Dianthus and Jayne, I am having fun with SYC! Intentionally trying to wear the items I haven't worn yet or that are orphans is a real creativity challenge and a great distraction from wanting to shop.

Angie, the weather has been so mixed up around here. I get so confused and have been wearing spring dresses and wedges in the rain, and wool coats and tights when it's warm and sunny. It was sunny and mid 60's today, but then started drizzling. So I'm just wearing whatever I want to--the weather will come around eventually!
