Your son has your smile! Does DD choose her own outfits? She's a layering master already! Luv your orange sheath with turquoise clutch!

  • marianna replied 12 years ago

Lovely! Looks like you've really found your style groove. All these outfits look fabulous.

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

Yes AJ, she picks her own outfits and LOVES pattern mixing! This one is actually a pretty tame outfit for her. Yesterday was group picture day and DD picked her own outfit with striped T, flowered tank dress, and floral leggings. Crazy pattern mixing, but it works for her! People do say DS looks like me!

  • kellygirl replied 12 years ago

Gorgeous, as always! Every one of these is perfect but I really LOVE the simplicity of 5. DD was just saying how she loves the packaging colors of Moroccan Oil--and here you are in all of its glory!

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Really love 4 and 5! With a wardrobe like yours, it would be a shame not to repeat - these pieces must be gloried in. :D

  • Polly (thunalata) replied 12 years ago

Fab! 4 and 5 especially! (though the children steal the show)

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

Cute kids. That poppy colored dress is fantastic!!!

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

Great outfits, Natalie! I just love that sheath dress on you in photo #5!

  • christieanne replied 12 years ago

Repeat often! I love the poppy dress but the other two are just great.Red jeans but paired with well chosen jacket and the textures and layering in #2 are standout.

  • Isis replied 12 years ago

LOVE the picture of your daughter! So adorable!

My fave of your outfits is #5. The pairing of the poppy with the turquoise is just smashing! Very creative!

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

All are very stylish and fresh looking to me -- not the sense of repeats to my eyes.

    #5 is TDF!!!

  • modgrl replied 12 years ago

That orange dress is tdf, I'm so glad you went back for it. I think I would pay close to a gagillion dollars to look this good in a dress. It is worth every penny!!

I lOve the other outfits too although I feel like there might be a lot going on in the cognac skirt outfit. I think I am having trouble with the long over long with volume. I think it woul work better for me if I could see you waist.

How do you feel about repeat outfits? I find that I like variety, even if it's just a different color jean with the same white knit top, or just a change of shoe. I know realistically we all have to repeat at some point, but besides dresses, I have an aversion to it. Makes SYC a little trickier ;)
I am a fan of red tones on you, so all of these are winners.

  • replied 12 years ago

Yay Natalie! Repeat often because you have the most beautiful clothes! Maybe you'll be able to come up with some new pairings, and if not, your original ones are fab too! Sometimes just rearranging your closet can uncover the most unlikely possibilities. I love that sheath dress with the turquoise bag and I'll never get tired of that pairing! Your children are the most beautiful cherubs ever! And I love DD's crazy pattern mixing ways. Makes me smile. :)

    Your kids are so cute.
I like to repeat outfits when they look and feel good and you have so many of them it would be a shame to wear them jus once.
Have you tried tucking in the shirt in outfit #2?I am wondering how the purport ions would look like.

  • Joy replied 12 years ago

These are all much too special not to repeat and repeat often. #1 and #5 are my favorites. Your children are adorable.

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

    Thanks everyone for the boost!

I felt so Mad Men elegant in this dress today. Everyone from my tax accountant (when I went to drop off the tax paperwork) to the nurses and ward clerks and patients were all stopping me to compliment my dress! I felt so fab!

As for repeating, I should clarify. I didn't mean that I was planning on wearing clothes only once! I just didn't feel like changing the outfit just for the sake of not repeating. I like the combo of poppy dress and turquoise clutch so I repeated it instead of trying to change the purse just to be different. Sometimes when you are happy with it the way you wore it before, it's best to stick to what works! Although I notice now that I did have different shoes and earrings the last time I wore this outfit. And the top and jacket in #1 I had worn together before, but with a red pencil skirt instead of red jeans. I tend to want to tweak things until I can get the "perfect" version of an outfit, and then wear it like that over and over!

  • jayne replied 12 years ago

I so agree. I am using YLF for just the same reason. Post an outfit, get comments and try again, and when it finally seems perfect just wear it like that! I think the SYC is a great chance to really tune the outfits instead of trying to start anew with adding things in. I am kinda SYC because I have enough clothes and the experience is teaching me that what I need to buy next is belts, necklaces and maybe more appropriate reusable supporting (as in not hero) shoes. I loved your causal outfit also above and that dress is drool worthy!

  • Deborah replied 12 years ago

Nothing wrong with repeating great outfits. Since joining YLF I feel much less pressure to remis outfits. The red jeans are wonderful. Something about the red creates a sense of "dressiness". All great looks. The red dress is beautifulmon you.

  • citygirldc replied 12 years ago

Your kids are adorable. I love the sheath dress on you with the turquoise bag. That's a great outfit. #1 is a cool MOTG outfit with the red skinnies and leather jacket (something I would wear).

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

Your daughter's pattern mixing is so spot-on! Now *that's* talent! And AJ's right, your son's got your smile in miniature! :-D

Of course, that orange dress with turquoise bag is too darn awesome on you NOT to repeat! But I wanted to add that I also don't think I'd ever tire of the patterns and textures flowing so intricately together in your other two outfits either --- the way the red and black bag stitches the rest of the garments together, the coolth of the jacket and the fun of the jeans along with the ladylike bag that prevents it looking too young; or the way the print on your shirt weaves down into the colour of your skirt. THAT'S the Natalie signature style that is so special to my eye!

  • krishnidoux replied 12 years ago

Your daughter is too cute! I would frame that lovely picture. And your son looks like a happy little guy! You have adorable children.
Those red pants really suit you and your style. I like how you paired them with ballet flats and teal print shirt. It is an unconventional yet successful match. But where I am falling off my chair is the last outfit, the orange dress and turquoise purse. WOW! Perfect shoes too. WOW! WOW!
