WIW 5/17: Spring workwear--blue snakes and butterflies in the garden

I have been wearing a lot of patterned dresses as my Fast Fallback Outfit since I've been rushed this week. I also have been feeling the urge to dress in a more spring-like fashion, but pastels don't look good on me. These are all pieces you've seen before but not all together like this. I tried it with a blue cardigan but felt more put together with the structured jacket (plus I can't resist pulling out my favorite ink blue jacket again!) And I thought it would be cute to call the outfit snakes and butterflies in the garden (as I've heard some of you referring to snakes in the garden before when combining snakeskin and florals). These blue snakeskin pumps are so awesome and so me--except the height! I so wish they were 2 inches shorter! Not practical for a full day of work--I had to change into kitten heels midway through the day. If anyone ever sees a mid-heel ink blue snakeskin pump for sale, let me know! Till then I will suffer for the sake of fashion! :)

ETA: DH liked this outfit a lot (though I wasn't wearing the blue heels at that time!)

Love it all. The dress is a really pretty cut and looks like it is a perfect fit for you. I like the monochromatic look too with the blue jacket and blue shoes.

    Very nice GP

Beautiful!! I love that wrap dress on you.

Perhaps you need the KS blue shoes?

Your FFBO works every time. I understand about the heels - a low kitten heel is much easier for walking all day for me too.
Spring and summer do not have to mean pastels - a pretty floral in bold colors works just as well if not better.

    Just stunning!

Wow, so pretty! I love that dress. You know I love that jacket, since I'm your jacket twin. I want to copy you from head to toe :)

So pretty and definitely springy. I love how that dress really can travel between the seasons. Too bad about the blue snake pumps, though. :T

I love you in a printed dress, so I'm glad they're easy to wear! The blues you wear so well can look just as spring-y as pastels to me. Fab! Please don't tell me you just let your hair dry naturally and it's glossy and perfect all by itself. It wouldn't be fair!

This is a fantastic combination - the pieces all work together and yet they each have their own visual interest.

Beautiful, Natalie. One of your best! This shade of blue is deep, but still vibrant. I find it so sophisticated and ladylike!

FANTASTIC! Natalie, I just love you in blue and navy --- I've said that before, but this tonal outfit is inspired! And adding the butterflies to pick up the pale flowers is absolute perfection.

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments!

Dianthus and Manidipa: It is fun to play around with tonal outfits for a change because I'm usually all about higher contrast and/or bright colors.

Rita: Thanks! I think those Kate Spade pumps are really pretty. Are you getting the pink ones? They would totally suit you!
I also found these Kate Spade Simon blue snakeskin low heeled pumps, they're a little bit lighter blue than I wanted but the heel is nice and low:

6pm doesn't have my size but I got Nordstrom to price match so I'm going to give it a try!

Lisa: I figured you would like the necklace! Not surprising given your avatar! I wear the leopard necklace you gave me a lot--thanks!

Amy--I was so excited to see you had gotten the jacket earlier! High five jacket twin! Have you posted more WIW's with it yet? Can't wait to see more!

Claire: I'm embarrassed to say I'm so lazy I never dry or style my hair. It's just wash, brush and go. And I just put it in a ponytail at work. That's why it's often wet in my WIW's! I really should put more effort into personal grooming, LOL!

Christianne, Claire, Rae, Beth Ann: it's good that you agree that blue can be a spring as well as fall color!

Kiwichick, Makrame, Sona & Shannon: Thanks so much!
