WIW 5/26: Agate dress for work and play

Friday I wore the turquoise Michael Michael Kors printed dress again (didn't take a pic since I've already posted a WIW recently). The very next day I wore my MMK agate dress. I decided to keep it even though it is similar to the other one. I asked DH what he thought of the dress and he said he liked it. He did not like the other MMK print dress because he doesn't like bold geometric prints and he thinks the V neck and clasp make it look like a bathrobe. But he said, "I can tell you would like that dress--it's very much your style". He also guessed within $1 how much the dress was and how much the sale price was (he could do very well on a fashion Price is Right!), although he thought the agate dress looked more expensive than the printed dress (they were originally the same price but the agate dress was on sale). So I kept the agate dress since he liked it better. And yes, I wore it back to back with the other one so I think they can coexist in my wardrobe!

I wore the agate dress yesterday to work, with a caramel leather jacket and nude heels. And then when I came home from work I swapped it out with a white denim jacket and Dansko sandals to take the kids to a birthday party. It would have been perfect, but the party was in a park in the city and I forgot how foggy and windy and cold it gets in the summer in SF. So I froze my buns off! But the kids had fun getting their face painted! (I'm wearing an Ergo carrier in the pic with them). DD asked for a cat, and DS asked for a heart. So sweet!

Hubby is full of stylish wisdom :)

This dress is a 10 on you, Natalie. I really like it with the white denim jacket!

You should be commended for being able to wear a carrier in a dress. Is DS the passenger? Your little ones are adorable.
I am glad your husband seems to have given the dress a thumbs up. That bag is really cute.

I like the dress too! You are getting DH eye trained but he has his own opinions :)
It has been a typical foggy and cool Memorial Day for sure (sadly) but kids look cute in their coordinated polar fleece coats.

I really love how you demonstrate the changing up of the dress with the different jacket and shoes. It is amazing how these simple thing change the look, feel and vibe of a dress, which is of course, very lovely on you. :)

Thanks Angie, Zap, Christieanne, Meredith, Ana, and Shannon!

Zap, yes DS was riding in it because he was napping in the car on the way there so I didn't think he would walk (had to walk up a steep hill, darn SF street parking!) He's 2 so we don't use it that often but it's handy to have when you don't want to bring a big stroller. It wasn't that hard to wear it with a dress actually!

Christieanne, yes DH definitely has his own opinions! I'm glad he liked the dress, but I wore my H&M floral pants today and he definitely had some comments about those! Are you here in the Bay Area too?

Meredith, it seems like this dress will be easy to dress up or down depending on the topper.

Ana, yes the dress is very summery with the white jacket...unfortunately I forgot how wintery our summer is!

It sounds like your husband has come around to understand what really makes your heart sing in terms of style-and along the way picking up knowledge and forming his own opinions too!

I love this dress, and especially adore it with the bright handbag. Those shades are right up my alley.

Really pretty! That dress suits you perfectly. So what if if it's similar to on you have - you just know what works. :-)

So pretty, Natalie. (I lived in SF for 4 years, and remember absolutely *freezing* in the summer).
