WIW 5/31: Matchy matchy lemon & aqua running gear and new sneakers!

Of course my matchy matchy streak would extend to my workout outfit! Hopefully it's not too cheesy looking to be all matchy matchy in gear! These are all different brands, but I love the cheery combination of bright lemon yellow and aqua. And how fun that I found a pair of sneakers to match perfectly! Thanks everyone for the recs on my previous thread. I took your advice and went to a running shoe store and they videotaped me walking on a treadmill. I found out I've got flat feet and overpronate (my ankles roll inward), so I need a shoe with a lot of medial arch support, cushioning and stability. They recommended the Asics GT 1000 v2 for me (the pink pair). I also found a couple more styles online that had similar profiles (good for overpronators): the Asics Kayano 20 (the black one) and the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 14 (aqua and yellow). It's kind of silly, but I think I'm going to keep all three so I can have different shoes to match different outfits! Plus I read somewhere that rotating multiple shoes makes it less likely to get injured. I love all of these, especially the Brooks. They are so light yet supportive! And they match my turquoise Zella jacket as well. My previous sneakers were some white New Balance cross trainers, but they are very old. These new ones are so comfy, I'm trying to think of ways to wear them with regular outfits (esp. the black ones). If people can wear Birks with fashionable outfits, why not sneakers? ;)

Oh, and I've gone on three 1-mile runs this week and went from 18 min to 14 min to 12 min! A good start so far! Thanks everyone for your advice!

Great sneaks and love the outfit also! I have just started running again too but I don't look as fun as you do.

Your running outfit is so you!  Colorful, cheerful and coordinated and the fit looks great.  So happy you posted the shopping outcome.

I pronate too.  If supportive shoes aren't enough as your mileage increases, orthotics are a huge help in preventing pain & injury.

You are too cute. I love it! New sneaks are awesome. Now I want to go sneaker shopping after seeing your and Neel's posts back to back.

    Great job on the running!

I run in Brooks Adrenalins. Three pairs of shoes, different brands, is a good idea because they can "rest and dry" between runs. You look great. Have fun. I'm part of a group here called Beginner's Luck, which is an eight-week class to help people get started. Among the tips we teach are the importance of proper gear.

Good for you! The lemon and aqua is very cheery!
I have asics kayanos, they are a good shoe. It's good to go to a running store and get help for your particular feet I think.

You look wonderful and ready to run. Looking great in your gear is a another great incentive to get up and go.

I on the other hand have the disincentive of being shamed by my infamous dog. I started running again with him to wear him out and keep him out of trouble. But, he is a little hound dog, and his instincts tell him we should chase things like cars, bicycles, golf carts, squirrels, etc., and that he should bay/ howl while doing it. He sounds like the Hound of the Baskervilles. I live across from a golf course and run around the perimeter, where he makes so much noise that he was written up in the local paper. The Golfers all know him. This morning while we were out running, yet another guy I don't know shouted out "Go Reed. Don't let those prisoners get away!"

Oh my gosh, look how gorgeous you are! I LOVE matchy matchy workout gear! Happy gear means you'll use it more often.

I might have to get myself some of those pink and orange Asics…I'm about due for a shoe refill. ;)

  • replied 9 years ago

Wow, I love your running gear. It makes me smile and congratulation on increasing your time. Way to go!

  • Mo replied 9 years ago

Fun! Great going on the running, too! I had Kayanos as my first serious running shoe - so cushy - ahhh. I'm in the GT-2170's now. Did you size up on the Fiona? I find my 30 band is crushingly tight lol.

  • Thistle replied 9 years ago

Fabulous!  Love the sneakers, and the matchy outfit is just your style. You look spectacular on your runs!

  • gardenchick replied 9 years ago

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

WOW! Love the bright colours :)

  • Peri replied 9 years ago

Those are the kind of shoes I wear in outfits!!!

Well, I've never found a way to make them look fashionable, but I hope you do and show me how!

  • goldenpig replied 9 years ago

    Thanks so much everyone!
Mo, I did find that the bra sizing is rather small. I normally wear a 32DD but they don't have that size so I went with a 34D for the Fiona. But I bought another Moving Comfort pull on style that I had to size up to a L to feel comfortable and avoid getting armpit muffin top!
