WIW 6/4: Dress challenge day 2--ocean mama and kelp girl

DD had a school performance where the kindergarteners sang a song about kelp (each grade had an ocean themed song). So cute! They were supposed to dress in green or brown to look like kelp. She wore a Gap Diane Von Furstenburg green romper (that looks like kelp) and fish/shark Babyleg legwarmers. She also picked out my dress--she wanted me to wear this watery print "ocean" dress to match the theme. So I wore this, even though it was a tad casual for work with the denim jacket (I had to go to work after her performance). So fun to do matchy matchy themes with DD! Bonus pics of her kelp art with smiley crab.

AE white denim jacket
Michael Kors agate "ocean" dress
WHBM lagoon necklace and bracelet
Cole Haan blue "beachy" stripe bag
Rieker "sand" colored booties

What a gorgeous pair!  And that kelp art looks amazing (it looks like the outline of the carb has some sort of a texture ?)  That dress always looks great on you, and I like the "beachy" accessories.

I absolutely adore when your matchiness extends to an entire event and includes your kids!  You are fab!

You and DD are adorable and so is the smiling crab!

I love your dress and your daughter's as well! (When the Gap DVF collection came out I could easily have bought half of it for my daughter.) I really like how you are both matching without being literally matchy! Her art is beautiful.

I think your daughter has artistic talent!

And what a lovely dress on you.

Thanks Makrame, Una, Ceit, Shevia, Marit & Denise!

Makrame, DD said that she drew it with pastels and then painted it with watercolors. My project for this summer will be to organize her and DS's artwork into binders. They come home with so much artwork from school! This year DD's drawings have gotten even more cute and creative.

I know, Una! My matchy matchiness knows no bounds! You should see how I dress all three of them in matching clothes!

Ceit, I was looking for a more work appropriate topper, but nothing looked as good as the white jacket.

Shevia, the crab is my favorite too!

Marit, what Gap DVF did you get your DD? This is from last year. (My DD is so tiny that we usually get two years out of her clothes). I didn't realize that the romper would be so complicated--she has to undo the side tie and then unbutton the hidden button on the other side to get out and then redo it. Not a great style for kids who have to go to the bathroom by themselves at school.

Denise, my DD has way more artistic talent than me!
