WIW 6/5: Presto change-o--Orange B44 dress for work and MOTG

I spent several minutes this morning trying to come up with a good skirt outfit that would work for both work and MOTG afterward without any luck. I also tried to come up with an Angie menswear-inspired outfit with blue shirt and white pants and blazer, but it just didn't feel like me. (Not ladylike enough, I guess). So I went to my FFBO--dresses! The orange Bailey 44 dress was perfect for both work and MOTG by switching out the jacket, bag and shoes. I went to a popsicle social with DD at her new school so she could meet her new 8th grade buddy, then took the kids out to the park afterward.

I love this dress, it feels like I'm wearing pajamas all day. The pics with the overhead lighting really emphasize my poochy apple tummy, but hopefully it's not so noticeable IRL. Had lots of people complimenting me on my dress--both patients and coworkers. A couple of random moms came up to me in the park to tell me that they absolutely loved my dress...I told them to go to Anthro to check out the latest iteration.

Oh BTW I had my first IRL sighting of a purple B44 at the hospital--a staff member walked by wearing one (with a cream linen blazer on top)! I was so excited but I didn't have time to stop her (I didn't know her) to compliment her (good thing I wasn't wearing my orange one then! That would have been really funny!)

1. Anthro Bailey 44 orange tiered stripes dress, Alexis Bittar orange pendant
2. Work--Lafayette 148 cognac leather jacket, Fossil floral satchel, Easy Spirit nude pumps
3-4. MOTG--American Eagle denim jacket, Marc by Marc Jacobs Dotty snake bag, Ugg wedge sandals. Do you like the handbag as a crossbody or hanging off my shoulder?

Thanks for your feedback!

Great restyling of the dress! I saw the pics before reading your post and thought of #2 as work and #3-4 as MOTG. You look fab in both! I absolutely love that dress and the Marc by MJ snake bag! Way to go with all the compliments and I can imagine how funny it would be to meet a twin Bailey44 dress *giggle* BTW purple B44 sounds gorgeous!

You look fantastic in this dress and in each of the ways that you have styled it.

Fabulous switcheroo! because the bailey's star material, i think I like dotty on the shoulder and to the side with this one.

I love this dress on you Natalie and think it's equally fab for work and MOTG. This is YOU!

We are dress twins :) super- confy, isn't it?
That dress looks very good on you, I know it photographs badly for some reason.
    Fab Motg!

Cute dress! I really like it lightened up with the denim jacket and sandals. I like this dress on you, but as someone who is very petite, I am still having a hard time wrapping my mind around this length. If this dress was mine, I would prefer that it be just below the knee.

These outfits are all KILLER. Stick to frocks and ditch the menswear looks, Natalie!

LOVE 3 and 4! That polka dot pop in the cross body bag makes my eyes happy.

Love this dress ANY way you style it :)

I like the length of the polkadot bag best worn crossbody.

These are both fantastic looks for you, Natalie. Honing in on your style even more, I don't think you need to pull off the menswear looks when you can rule the skirts and dresses like this.

Stunning, GP, and I love it with BOTH the cognac leather and denim jackets. The orange is spectacular, too.

Perfect MOTG for your style! You've transformed it just right! Polka dot bag is adorable.

GAH, so in love with #3!!!

Love this dress and remarkable how versatile it is. And two looks that both work. Love dotty as cross body because you can see more pattern mix but either way is great.

Maybe the tomboy look would be something to try on jeans wearing MOTG days but somehow your ladylike elements still need to be there.

Oh, you've given me inspiration for wearing this dress casually - you look great in the dress, both dressed up and MOTG versions. Thanks for posting these!

Both iterations look great, but #3 takes the cake for me! The denim jacket and dotty purse are just perfectly paired. #2 looks almost as casual to me with the leather jacket and canvas purse, though. Maybe try with a cropped blazer and keep dotty in the mix?
