WIW 6/7-6/13: Catching up part 1

I have been so super busy these last two weeks. It's been a full schedule at work and lots of activities with the kids and family. I barely have time to catch my breath. I'm either falling asleep right after tucking the kids to bed and/or up all night with the baby. So I haven't had a chance to post my WIW's. I probably should be asleep, but I need some me time so I'm catching up with my WIWs! Thanks for looking and commenting!

1. Fri 6/7 Matchy matchy matchy to work--Kate Spade Japanese floral
2. Fri 6/7 Margarita Mamas party (fundraiser for DD's school)--DH took care of all 3 kids so I could go! BR Trina Turk orange/yellow tunic and Paige white bootcut jeans. Fun to have a night out with the other moms.
3. Sat 6/8 MOTG Michael Kors dress and capri leggings. Dressy yet comfy for kiddo chasing.
4. Sun 6/9 MOTG denim jacket plus striped shirt plus maxi skirt plus Cons. DH was on call so I had all three by myself all day, took them to swimming and to a local festival. That was tiring!
6-7. Mon 6/10 to work--felt like a rock star in this The Shirt red snakeskin shirt and Kate Spade black trench.
8-11. Tues 6/11--special end of the year trip with DD's class to Angel Island. Jeans and hiking boots.
12. Tues 6/11--work meeting after the Angel Island trip. Wore this dress for professional pics for our work website.
13. Wed 6/12--Ann Taylor laser cut floral top. Mom and my family were visiting--she is wearing her typical colorful jeans and blingy top. This outfit is very her!
14. Thurs 6/13--to work. WHBM white shirt and chevron skirt.

Awww - #11 is beyond adorable! And the rest is too. All of these outfits are so well done and appropriate! Your style is just awesome, Natalie! ANd I love the family pics <3

*hugs* and hope you get some rest - enjoy the baby and the toddlers while you can. Time passes so fast and the schedule is so tight, but really do enjoy the restless night and exhausting days. Be kind to yourself :-) *hugs again*

BTW - Your mom look so fashion forward. How does she think about your passion for fashion? You mentioned previously that you were not exactly on the same path ;-)

Thanks Harmonica! Enjoying the kids, but hoping to get more rest.

Yes, my mom is super trendy and fashion forward. Even more than me! I used to hate it when I was younger because I thought she was always overdressed and she always wanted us to dress up too. But now I find that I'm becoming more and more like her...I'm more interested in fashion, becoming a bit of a magpie and loving some bling, and DD is asking me why I'm always so dressed up. The cycle continues, LOL!

LOL - I think you are the perfect role model because you have your childhood experiences and is able to understand DD. In addition, you balance family life and work - you're not just pretty and dressing up, you're showing kindness and caring, intelligence and hard work. You are also able to guide her gently in dressing and fashion, as well as showing the variety and that gear, leisure, lounging or whatever is fine and appropriate too. All the best for all of you and your beloved - you know the first years are toughest when it comes to basic needs and having to put oneself to the side. Staying in the moment / mental presence and self irony was my best way of keeping up the rush (and not wishing for all the stuff I couldn't have right then) :-)

Natalie, how lovely to see you post. You're missed on here. Obviously your best look is #11 :). However I love both casual and professional looks. The sunny yellow/orange tones in 2 and 3 stand out for me as does matchy 1  and the casual vibe in 5. YLF.

You are so sweet Harmonica and Diane.

My mom is a role model...she worked as a chem professor and raised 5 kids, double major in chem and music and got her PhD in higher ed while working full time, was an organist and conductor for the church, helped us with homework and piano and science fairs, etc. etc. Super high bar to follow and I don't think I will ever measure up.

I am so not a tiger mom. I barely can get the kids fed and bathed and into bed by 9 pm, and they don't even have homework yet! I need to work on my patience--just tonight DH told me I yell at the kids too much, which made me cry (he is right though). :( Herding kids who constantly cry/whine/pout, fight over toys and wrestle with/hit each other, don't listen to me and dawdle each step of the way (plus a fussy baby who has to be held the entire time and refuses to nurse except for the two minute window where he is sleepy but not fallen asleep yet) through the bedtime routine in a timely fashion is trying, to say the least! Ah, the joys of parenting! ;) Ooops, the baby is crying again...gotta go...

Don't worry Natalie. I've done my fair share of shiouting and I only have one child! You are amazing and I think you have done so well. You are an inspiration.

You are amazing Natalie! Hope you get more me-time.

You look great in all these outfits.

Sweet Natalie - I shout too, sometimes too much :-( Especially when stressed + when headache and exhaustion is nagging me. I've also bursted in tears and said stupid things. But I tell them when the "cloud" disappear. I say I'm sorry. I try to explain that sometimes it just is too much to handle. It's human and kids need human role models, not super models. ;-) And tiger parents are not necessarily the best - kiddos learn by doing and sometimes they need to sort out t heir needs and problems by themselves (though easier when turned 4+ years) ;-)

Wow - your mom is amazing!

We all shout sometimes. Or burst into tears of frustration or tiredness. It is inevitable. I just tell myself, Clean Slate, and move on.

Natalie, you and your family are adorable. I love you in the brights of 2/3! And the little man is so serious in 13! But you and your daughter in #11 take the prize. I love your new specs and bangs. They really show your personality.

Well you're Wonder Woman, Natalie - and your KILLER MOTG and professional style are *power*. :). It's amazing what you accomplish in a day. My hat off to you. You absolutely inherited your Mother's Wonder Woman genes and measure up to her without any effort at all!!!

I am mesmerized by the second outfit. You wear tropical tunics with white jeans like no other. I vote KILLER to the power of KILLER. Hang in there. You are doing great! xox

I love ALL your outfits! Your mom is beautiful and I can see where you get your love of fashion. DD is sure to follow in your footsteps.

BTW, you know my favorite outfit is #5 :)
