WIW 7/24 & 7/25: Besotted with dots and Parisian chic navy and white

1-6. A very me outfit because of the ladylike ALGO hyper-matchiness--I love doing themes to excess! I'm besotted with dots--everything in this outfit has dots! I've probably posted this outfit before, but I don't remember exactly the last time I wore this suit, so here it is again!
(ETA: Here was the last time, in February):
http://goldenpig.lookfab.com/p.....-bow-pumps)
White House Black Market polka dot skirt suit with ruffled collar
WHBM cream silk shell
WHBM spectator belt with polka dot trim
WHBM pearl necklace (kind of like more dots!)
Marc by Marc Jacobs Dotty snake bag
All Black fish bow pumps with dots on the toe box (a match made in heaven with Dotty!)

7-10. Navy and white always reminds me of Parisian chic! Especially with the navy peacoat and straw handbag. Wearing my summer formula of blousy tunic, white jeans and nude sandals. It's kind of cold here in the summers, hence the peacoat for the foggy mornings.
WHBM blue and white floral blouse
Paige white Hidden Hills jeans
Clarks Woodward Willows nude wedge sandals
WHBM silver and diamond bracelet
Jason Wu for Target straw handbag with navy trim

Love, love, love, love, love, love....well, you get the idea...

I can see why you're besotted with dots! This outfit is fantabulous! Ladylike and classy for sure. I'm just as besotted with your motg outfit. You've got the formula nailed! (can I just mention how jealous I am of your peacoat weather. 100 degrees and humid here!)

I think I love every single outfit you've worn with those All Black shoes, and this outfit is no exception. You have mentioned that matchy-matchy is one of your style idioms, and it works particularly well with your color-blocked items.

    Thanks Shannon, Kathy & Kari!

KathyL, I actually wore the second outfit to work, even though it's more of a typical MOTG outfit! I'm blurring the lines between work and MOTG...I wear my work outfits to MOTG and vice versa! (Hope things cool off for you!)

Kari, I find that I really tend to focus on matchy matchy especially in my neutral outfits. It provides enough visual interest that I don't miss the lack of color!

Natalie! Your first outfit has converted me over to the matchy-matchydom. It is just perfect - all of those dots make me so happy! Also, love the 2nd outfit - it looks so comfortable and pretty on you. Thanks for posting!

Love these outfits! With #1 if you don't mind me saying I think the belt looks a little out of place. I think it's because the suit doesnt really require a belt, however I would add a slimmer belt if you want to wear one.

The second outfit is ooh la la, tres Parisian chic.

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

It's matchy matchy, but it totally works because as Kari said the items are still harmonious with their color blocking.
Great formula in 7-10, I'm a big fan of blue and white - it looks so crisp.
And I can't thank you enough for leading me to those Clarks sandals. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them and they are the most I've ever spent on non-boot footwear but so worth it.

    Thanks Marley, Deborah & Jeanne!
Marley, yay, another convert! Would love to see you do matchy matchy.

Deborah, thanks for the suggestion. I got the idea for the belt because that's how they showed it in the catalog (and I was in my "rip off entire catalog outfits" mood when I bought those things from WHBM). Wow I just checked and it looks like the jacket is still available! If anyone's a size 10 or 14 you can get it on clearance for just $29.99!

Jeanne, I'm so glad you got those sandals too! They're so comfy and they go with everything!
