WIW 7/3: Giving the H&M floral pants my best shot!

I've tried and tried to come up with the perfect outfit for these H&M floral pants that DH hates (both for work and MOTG) but each time it hasn't felt quite right. This is for work so he won't see it. This is my best shot at making these sophisticated and wearable. Did it work?

Anne Fontaine double collar blouse
H&M floral pants
Kate Spade turquoise Shelly pumps
Tahari black leather jacket
Banana Republic Trina Turk turquoise and citron drop earrings
Dooney & Bourke yellow satchel

Yes, it definately works. You look great and I love the colour mix along with the florals.
    A+++ outfit

I love it! The solid white top really shows off the rest of the outfit... very cute!

I like this, too, Natalie. The structured, classic, buttoned up elements really help balance out the bold, youthful print. The casual, MOTG items probably emphasize the youthful quality instead, which is why they were harder to style. Bonus that DH doesn't have to see them when you wear them to work! ;)

I love these pants on you. Super cute!! I like how you have them styled too!

Wow, I think this looks great, and I don't even like flower printed pants!

I think it looks awesome. I wouldn't wear those pants to work myself, but if my doc wore them into the examining room I would be thrilled!

I love these pants, Natalie, and I think you look wonderful in them. Great styling. I'm with MaryK; if my doctor walked into the examining room wearing this outfit, I'd be tickled pink!

I like it! And good for you for finding a way to wear them without upsetting DH's dellicate sensibilities!

I think the key here is the heels. They really help balance the proportions from the ankle length pants, plus they add some sophistication.

I like this one. The conservative top and streamlined shapes of your bag/shoes help tone the pants down while still letting them shine.

I really like this combination Natalie! I love those pumps, btw!

I like the restraint of teaming the pants with the white blouse and sophisticated but simple jacket. The purse and shoes add a lovely hit of color and I love the fact that they are NOT matchy matchy!

I think this looks great! I really like the crisp white shirt with the pants.

    I likey

    Gorgeous!

I like this, the white button up says authority and the flower trousers say I like to have fun too. Nice mix here.

I think this is the most success incarnation yet.

  • jen replied 11 years ago

I would wear them with a white shirt, nude shoes and no bag! Let the pants sing on their own and not let anything compete with them, more chic!

  • modgrl replied 11 years ago

I know you've already heard from alot of others on this outfit but I still wonder about the combination of the loud pants with the neon shoes.... why not black or nude shoes? That would tone them down quite a bit. I'm sorry but this outfit just does not scream "power" and I know that is one of your work pet peeves. Just a thought.

My favorite version that I've seen so far!

Natalie, its terrible, send those pants to me:) I am joking... you know I love those pants and would love a pair myself. I think your styling of this is perfect. I can't fault anything here. I could continue, but I would be gushing... you look gorgeous in this outfit.

I love the addition of the 'serious' white shirt and dark topper. Also the hits of colour from the bag and earrings. I'm a little hesitant about the shoes, though --- wouldn't black be more leg-lengthening and more grounding with the playful pants? (as well as bookending hair and jacket)

Ooooohhhhhh, Natalie, I love love love!!!! Fab, fab outfit. Those shoes with that bag and those earrings = style genius!

I love it! The outfit is great! Those fun floral pants with the turquoise shoes and white blouse just makes me happy.
