WIW 8/12: Big Kitty T shirt and Spiegel jacket (I'm a lemming after all)

Yesterday I bought a jaguar print T shirt and Vince Camuto lace print tube skirt at Nordstrom. I was going to wear it this weekend, but after seeing Angie's post today on Big Kitty tops I could NOT resist wearing it today! Work appropriateness be darned! My patients will get the same care no matter what I'm wearing, so I might as well have some fun! I tried the combo with my Halogen knit moto jacket (the one that you all liked so much) and my Tahari black leather jacket, but neither of them gave exactly the right vibe I wanted. So I pulled the Spiegel out of the return box and the tags finally came off. I know it may not be as flattering on me or fit my style as much as others, but for $60 I can have fun with this new to me casual slouchy cutaway silhouette and if I get tired of it, just pass it down to my sister. I have been flip flopping back and forth about keeping or returning the Spiegel jacket and finally this outfit pushed me over the edge (cliff). I'm a lemming after all. Whee!!!

You look great! I really like this silhouette on you although it's somewhat different from your norm. Your cat tee is grown-up and doesn't look twee, especially paired with black like you've done here.

I have to say I didn't love the jacket for your style in previous pics, but with this outfit, it looks perfect. It lays right on you, the lapels don't look overwhelming, and it adds the perfect touch to the overall look. So interesting how the right styling can make a piece work. Great job, you look fab! Glad you took off the tags and are enjoying it!

I think you made a good choice. It's fun, looks great and is the perfect "slight" edge to your style (IMO). Not to mention the way you styled it here - just fab!

I love this outfit, GP. The tee and lace skirt are so fun together. The lace up boots are really perfect too. Yup, I think I love this jacket on everyone. It looks great on you.

    I love this so much.

This is so fun, and a bit different for you. I love your usual style just as well, but it's a fun departure, all the slouchy textures.

This outfit is so freaking cool! I'd wear it, but hopefully that's not a negative in your book.

I love this outfit and the jacket with it, GP! (And I think it's really flattering).  All the slouchiness and textures makes this so interesting.  Very fun!

This is so fun, edgy and rather different and you're rocking it! I really like it!

Yay! love how the Spiegel looks over the tee and the design on the tee almost has a lace effect like your skirt. So fab!

I am glad that you decided to keep and wear. You are on Team Wear all the way!

    Jaw drops . . .

You look so incredibly current, a little polished UWP/RATE, but still you in this. I was a fan of the spiegel jacket on you, and i think it will be perfect for casual slouchy looks.

    You look FAB!

Natalie!  Oh My Gosh.  This is sooooo cool on you!  You look great in this style - I can't stand it!  LOVE THIS - (I want the whole outfit.)

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

This is so fab! Edgy Natalie comes out to play!

  • Ginkgo replied 10 years ago

Love this on you -- you look like a dangerous woman! And that's not a negative. Like the lace skirt combined with the boots.

Your shadow style is way out of the shadows now!  What a SUPERB stylist you are.  You knew how to do this just right for you and to look classy and not juvenile or costume-y.  I am beyond impressed.  Love it!

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

The jacket looks great worn in this ensemble. It's a different look for you Natalie, and one I would most definitely wear:). You look great.

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

I just fell off my chair here Natalie!
This is the Fabest of Fab outfit :)

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Love it on you and it looks great with your skirt and accessories. Great chance to play and try some new things.  That's how I'm looking at it.

    It's growing on me.

You've got some edgy UWP in you :) - I love this mirrored top; I didn't think it would be your style, but you totally pull it off!

  • FlorenceFearne replied 10 years ago

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this! I'd wear every item, but I probably never would have thought to combine that shirt with that skirt, and it looks so great! And the boot! And the purse! I think I need to stop hyperventilating over this awesomeness before I faint dead away.

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

What a cute cat top!  And fun skirt too.  I think it would work well with your wine jacket too.

  • Vildy replied 10 years ago

Even though the jacket is not my thing and the cat tee is not my thing, this is an incredible outfit you've put together and you look amazing.

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

Thanks everyone! Yes, my shadow UWP persona was having a fun time coming out to play for a day. I like being a little dark and edgy for a change. (And Anna, why would it be a negative--of course I'm flattered that you would want to wear the outfit! I love that we are floral pants twins!)

  • deb replied 10 years ago

    Love this on you!!!

  • Suz replied 10 years ago

Wow! Fainting with fuchsia crash helmet!! This is sensational and you certainly proved me wrong. Okay, I adored that kitty shirt on you from moment one. It looks smashing on you! But the pairing with the skirt is positively inspired, and you made the right choice in picking that jacket out of the return box. Fab outfit!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

So glad to see you having fun with fashion!  Everyone needs to go edgy sometimes.  Looks great, and still seems like "you."

  • goldenpig replied 10 years ago

    Thanks Deb!
Thanks Suz, your fuchsia crash helmet is really taking a beating! :)
Thanks Beth Ann--I do like to have fun and pretend to be edgy sometimes!
