WIW for Thanksgiving and our truly Black Friday--poor DD :(

Sorry I was out of the YLF loop for the last week or so. One of the cats was sick so I had to bring him to the vet, turns out he had a UTI so he had to be started on antibiotics. I was on call all of last week till Wednesday 5 pm. Then we drove down to SoCal all night and got there Thursday morning. Stayed at MIL's house but DS was feeling sick and was so tired he slept through Thanksgiving dinner. That night DS started complaining of ear pain and had high fevers (he had been coughing all week). So we had to take him to the doctor--that took all morning but he was given antibiotics for an ear infection. Then that evening DD fell off the piano bench at Grandma's house and even though it was only a couple feet, she fell right onto her shoulder. She was crying so hard we knew something was wrong. We took her to the ER and were there for another 3.5 hours...turns out she actually fractured her collarbone! Poor DD! She is in a sling and getting ibuprofen. She's a tough girl though...the first thing she did when we got back home from the ER at 10 pm was hop back up onto the piano bench and started playing again. We drove back all night Saturday. And on Sunday we went to a birthday party at a gym...we told her she could stay home with Dad but she really wanted to go. And she decided she wanted to swing on the rings anyways, using her one good arm. She is absolutely irrepressible! She's been to school the last couple of days with her sling. They said it will take several weeks to heal but hopefully she should not have any lasting problems from it.

I was so tired and with everything going on, I basically wore the same outfit the whole weekend. Nothing special to report...just wanted to explain why I was offline for so long. I know I missed some threads that I need to catch up on!

Oh my gosh your poor DD! I hope she feels better, and you DS too. That must have been scary. Well you still looked great this weekend. I especially love the mustard sweater and burgundy pants combo.

Your kids are ADORABLE! Sorry your weekend was spent in the ER and doctor's office. I hope your munchkins are as good as new very, very soon.

You have a lovely family! Your daughter sounds like quite a determined little person. Sounds like a very busy and non-optimal weekend, but everybody looks happy (and stylish) regardless.

Your kids are too cute. You look splendid in every color it seems. And I love that DD has burgundy pants too! Hope everyone feels better soon.

OMG, poor you! How you are even managing to stay on your feet is beyond me. So glad to hear that DD is on the mend and I hope DS is feeling better, too. That last photo is priceless! Hugs!

Oh Natalie, what a rough Thanksgiving! I am so sorry for your kids being sick (and kitty too). Your DD has quite a character, she is a real trooper!
The good thing is kids' injuries heal pretty well and fast. My son broke both bones in his arm when he was 5 and now he does not even remember that.
You looked lovely and your kids are the cutest!

Natalie, what a weekend! Wow. I am so sorry your family has been on such a rough ride the past week. I hope everyone is healing well. In the meantime, you may have felt frazzled but your looked cozy and beautifully seasonal.

Oh no, poor sweetie! I feel her pain. But she does sound like a tough cookie. Here's to quick healing for her.

WaAAAH! Poor DD! She sounds like a REAL warrior princess, though!

    Eeek! What an ordeal.

You still look so serene and beautiful in all those pictures, it's hard to connect the images with your description of all that happened to you and your family over the weekend!

But I'm glad that everyone seems to have survived more or less intact. And the sheer determination in your daughter's face swinging one-handed from those rings is priceless.

I got more and more exhausted as I read about your *memorable* weekend. Glad your kids are on the mend; hopefully you can catch up on you rest -- at work!?!

Off to bed, but I had to pop in and wish DD a quick recovery - ouch!

Blimey what an awful time of it you've had!! Glad DD is on the mend though I can imagine its stressful when she won't sit still. So glad you got kitty to the vets UTI's can be fatal in male cats, my mum lost her boy cat to it and my furbaby Marley is on permanent tablets due to recurrent bouts x

You look absolutely adorable GP :) No doubt in that...
Poor you with the babies and the fur baby as well falling sick all at once...

You know that your kiddos are absolutely the sweetest... Look at the switch DD made.. from 4 to 5 . As Una said... she is true UWP :)..

    Looooove the photo 9.

Your best photo is 8 :)...
Loads of hugs and kisses to you :)

My goodness Natalie - what a week for you! Poor DD and DS! Your daughter is obviously one tough cookie though and nothing seems to stifle her happy smile. The picture of your sweeties in #9 is just adorable.

You of course look fantastic and radiant. Now all of you get some rest and take it easy!

  • rachylou replied 6 years ago

Ohmigosh! But you were perfectly dressed for the ordeal, I should say.

    But ohmigosh!

p.s. The pic of your DD in her sling hanging off the rings... too much! Children are amazing! Lol!

Whew, what a weekend! The poor things and poor you too! Hats off to the brave young lady, though---she really is a trooper.

Oh, you have the cutest family ever! I hope your determined little daughter heals quickly. You look beautiful and I hope the rest of the holiday season will be smooth sailing!

  • christieanne replied 6 years ago

Oh my - you must be exhausted! Vibes that everyone heals up quickly (my son and nephew both have gone through the broken collarbone - they do heal in about 6 weeks at that age) and you can get back to normal.
    Looking fabulous!

Holy crap, what a rough holiday! But DD is a real trooper! Look at her one handed swinging! Hope you are able to rest this week!
