WIW: New haircut and my signature outfit

Today I went to get a haircut for the first time in over a year since I donated my hair to Locks of Love last June. I did a colonoscopy recently on a hairdresser and she convinced me to come see her to get my hair cut. I think she did a good job...I was there for over an hour while she was fussing over my hair. Definitely nicer than my usual Supercuts! She cut a tiny bit of bangs too (I know some of you guys were suggesting that). She kept it fairly long and added some face-framing layers. What do you guys think? I know it probably doesn't look that different to you in the picture, but it feels so much more like a real hairstyle compared to before. But it's still wash and go which is great.

I wore my favorite signature "demure bombshell" outfit from my profile pic to work (Hinge blouse, Lafayette 148 skirt, red Clarks pumps)--I don't think I've posted it as an actual WIW before. Tonight DH and I went on a sunset cruise on the bay. It was a physician networking event for work that I had to go to, so I wanted to dress nicely (I hate schmoozing, but it's important for my job to do this once in a while). I wore the KS ruffle trench on top since it was chilly. I asked DH to take a pic of me and he sighed and said, "You're so irritating." But he took one and it came out nicely (so much better than the pics I take of myself in the mirror), so it's worth annoying him to have a nice pic of my new haircut and fave outfit, right? :) And here's a couple of bonus GG bridge shots that DH took from the boat.

Oh, I love the new hair, looks great! I'm glad you didn't lose too much length all in all.
I can totally see why this is your signature outfit, you look awesome! This look is just perfect on you in every way. I also like it worn with the black trench. And I really like the bridge pictures, the light and the colors are wonderful!

You have Awesome Hair!!!! I can definitely see a difference, it's lifting your face more and it goes with your retro-inspired looks more. I especially love the shot of you on the boat, with the wind lifting your hair, it reminds me of some library chapter book for teenagers from the sixties, with a line drawing of a girl going on a picnic (sorry for rambling! I don't know how else to describe the feeling :))

I haven't seen this outfit before and it is gorgeous. Plenty of personality and rich colours and yet it would work to go anywhere, dressed up or down. I can see why it's your favourite.

Amazing views of the bridge too! Looks like you had a great night. ^_^

Love the hair - there's a big difference between long hair that's just there, and long hair cut into a style. The fringe (sorry I can't call it bangs- I was confused by that word for years in American teen fiction) really suits you.
Great signature outfit too - that's some signature!

It's lovely, GP - like Ali says, it's still long, but it's long with purpose !! You look beautiful.

The new hair looks great on you. I like that you kept the length and the soft bangs frame your face perfectly. I hope you go back. In my experience, a hairdresser gets better as they learn your hair and about you.

That is a lovely outfit and your hair is looks flattering, as well as your glasses, by the way.

Looks like you got the better end of the deal! ;) Your hair looks so shiny and healthy, and I can't get over how lovely you look. LOVE this outfit on you! The blouse is beautiful and goes so well with the skirt. The trench is the perfect finishing touch. This is the best you've shown so far, IMHO!

Love the haircut Natalie. I have to laugh at the idea of you chatting haircuts over a colonoscopy, but I guess it's all in a days work huh?
Lovely outfit... looks perfect for the occasion. And what gorgeous pictures of the bridge.

GP, you look absolutely wonderful. And professional! Although frankly I wouldn't give up on being told how young you look - with your skin, you'll be hearing *that* one for a while!

  • Mo replied 6 years ago

I really like your new cut! The soft bang and layers give it nice moment around your face. Looks like a lovely sunset cruise, even if it is a work function.

Very flattering new cut, Natalie! I love the backstory behind the appointment too. I had to read it twice to make sure I read it correctly. ;)

And if your husband is willing to take pictures of the GGB, he should be willing to take pictures of you too. Heck with him - you look great! And I still love the KS ruffle trench. So much so I might find one to come live with me...
