WIW 5/17 Hermes flamingo bag

OK coming clean! After the Hermes purse debacle I don't know that I should be posting this, but I said I would get through all of my handbags so here it is. I bought this Soie Cool bag at the same time as the other purse. I was going to sell this one too, but no one bought on my buy/sell/trade group, it so I'm keeping it. It was nowhere near as expensive as the other one. It's more of a backpack/casual bag but in a fun flamingo print. This outfit by itself is very plain which is normally not my style, but the flamingo bag makes it more fun and more me! Though I still got plenty of compliments on the outfit itself. I kind of am enjoying more simple and streamlined looks too. I just purged about 15 pairs of pre pregnancy pants that don't fit me anymore  so I was feeling bad about pants, but this one is stretchy and comfortable and breezy. It was super hot yesterday so the culottes were great. Funny thing is when I came home from work DS#2 ran to hug me and face planted his barbecue sauce laden lips right onto my crotch. Fortunately it seems like it's coming out with Oxy Clean. Hazards of wearing white pants with toddlers!

Great outfit.  My favorite colors for summer.  I hear you on the perils of white pants with toddlers.  As soon as I take off my white jeans they get sprayed with Oxylcean and put in the wash.

That is gorgeous! I love you in the simple outfit, and the bag is just beyond fabulous.

I love that bag!  So pretty!  Nice simple, but not plain, outfit.  I hear you on toddlers with messy faces and sticky fingers. Good thing they're so cute.

Simply gorgeous. The colors are lovely. I am always hesitant to wear anything white, as I am notorious for spilling something no it.  Yesterday, I dribble red punch across my breast - and didn't notice it until half the work day was over.

Killer all round. Your outfit makes me very happy.

Oh, I adore this!  So springy and happy, and such a perfect outfit for the new shoes.  How were they?

Love the bag! It's really the star of this outfit which is, by the way, not plain at all. Also curious about the 'Cayanne' sandals -- are they comfortable? I absolutely love the style. You look perfect for spring!

Lol, re. your little one. If all else fails, you can always dip the whole pair of pants in bbq sauce.

I'm fascinated that Hermès makes a bag like this one. Bright and cheerful. Great styling all around.

So pretty - and those pants look great on you!

Great outfit - I love those culottes!

This is stunning on you, Natalie -- one of my favourites ever! The bag is amazing of course but I also love you in the hot pink and the lovely white culottes. Where are they from?

(And I hope you rescued them! So funny...)

This outfit is far from plain! I love the colors.

Light pants are definitely perilous. Just today I banged my knee hard enough on my bicycle to make an inch-long green paint mark on my light pants. I'm a walking accident even without the grubby kids figured in!

Those colors are gorgeous. I love the print on the bag. Culottes are a nice look for you.

What a super outfit, Natalie! I like the bright solids with the stunning, intricately printed, fun backpack! And your Paul Green Cayannes are amazing with this outfit. (Glad the barbecue sauce is coming out! What an unexpected accident, huh?)

Another great look for you, the bag is the star of the show!

Love it all!  This is why I don't wear white.  You look ready for the tropics!

That is one beautiful bag and it looks great!

(I am guessing this is an item that elevates - may be that's not the right term...)

Hahahaha! Your story cracked me up early in the morning, Nat....and I so needed that. Can imagine the risks of wearing white pants with toddlers; you are a brave woman :D Something similar happened to me when I wore white tailored shorts at home for the first time. The puppy came back from the park and jumped on me in excitement, leaving ugly mud & slush paw prints all over my pristine white shorts. Sigh....we live, we learn.

Now, onto the outfit. It's FAR from simple, my friend. The gorgeous pink shirt is a beautiful color on you and the beautiful printed backpack 'elevates' the look just enough. The result - an outfit that's effortlessly pretty and feminine. Your accessorizing always add that 'glam' element to your outfits, making them quite 'You'.

    You look great!

That pink shirt is beautiful on you! And I love the pants. Good thing you were home when you got the BBQ sauce lip stain! And thank goodness for Oxy.

Gol Dang! That's a beautiful bag.
    Great outfit

I love love love this bag and the outfit compliments this bag.

Thanks so much everyone! Elizabeth and Jill, the Cayannes are surprisingly relatively comfortable--I'd say an 8 if sneakers are a 10. They're more comfortable than I would expect for the 3 inch heel height, and the leather uppers are quite soft. I can last all day when I'm in the office and doing procedures, but would choose a lower heel like the Munro Abby if I was going to be walking all day on call at the hospital. I've been wearing them almost every day for the past couple of weeks since I bought it, so I guess they've earned their workhorse status! People seem to love them a lot and I get lots of compliments on them.

Suz, the culottes are 1.state from Nordstrom. I think these might be them or very similar to what I got.

BBQ sauce seems to have come out, but I just realized I have a couple of small pen marks on the inseam that don't look like they are going away. Fortunately they're not that noticeable, but I'm wondering if I should stock up on a duplicate pair given the dual hazards of klutzy me and messy toddlers!

Gorgeous bag.  Beautiful outfit.  I have shoe envy.  I can't wear anything white.  I wouldn't be able to get out of the house before all the dirt nearby attacked me.

  • Lisa replied 7 years ago

This is a really fun bag for summer.
