WIW 7/23: Red, white and teal summer office UWP

These pics were taken at the end of the day so I'm looking a bit rumpled. Another newish color combo for me--red and teal. I started with the UWPish skirt (teal snake), because I was taking DS2 to the doctor's in the morning and I wanted easy access for nursing, so a shirt and skirt instead of a dress. I bought this stretchy ponte skirt when I was pregnant in a size up (M) and wore it even in third trimester! It's a bit loose on me now--I could probably fit into a S now. I normally wear this skirt with a black top, but this time decided a white shirt would be lighter and more appropriate for summer. Added the red necklace and bracelet and ballet flats to match the red purse. I didn't want the teal skirt to be lonely though, so I added the turquoise tile bracelet. I have matching red and turquoise ones, and linked them together to make a single big clinky clanky bangle. So, there you go--new outfit! (And bonus DS2 pics!)

Question--do you prefer the shirt untucked or tucked? Thanks for your comments and feedback!

Great outfit!  I like how all the red accents make the red look purposeful against the teal, which aren't two colors that I would have thought of putting together.  The white shirt lightens it all up.

I like it untucked, Natalie! You have the best accessories too.

I like it untucked. Red and teal is one of my favorite color parings :) Great outfit!

I like it untucked. Red and teal look gorgeous together. So fab!!  You look terrific!

I am on Team Legs and prefer the shirt tucked. :) But it is good both ways. The red warms up the teal nicely!

PS: DS2 is totally cute (and I hardly ever say that about babies, lol).

Aw, congrats on your wee one! :)  What a beautiful darling!!!  Love the outfit, the mix of textures and the echoing colours!  I say, tucked looks best on you.

I like how tucked looks, but not how the tucked part of the shirt creates wrinkles in your skirt. So untucked would be my preference!

Also, having just read Rae's thread about rethinking her style, I'm looking at your outfit in a different light. Do you consider it UWP because of the skirt pattern? Are there other elements that make it UWP?

    Thanks everyone!

Cathy, I normally wore this skirt with black zipper top and booties and leather jacket and spiky bracelet (see this outfit for an example). So in my mind the skirt is UWP. I thought maybe the white shirt would lighten it up for summer. But I guess you're right, the whole effect is not UWP anymore. I've always been not very UWP, more of a dabbler or acolyte with a very ladylike version, so all of my UWP outfits are more UWP in my mind than they are IRL, I suppose! LOL!

I can totally see how the other outfit is UWP! I've just been wondering if we are somehow redefining UWP on YLF :-) I do like how the white blouse summer-fies the skirt.

I would so fear to wear red and teal together(am blonde, and consider too much of a color for me) but you look your very best in them+ with Ms Scralet! Love the shirt best untucked here (but maybe is just what picties whisper at the end of a long and tireying day at work)
