Reality vs. Fantasy 4/30: Entomology

Oh man, this really was a Reality vs. Fantasy outfit. I was fully intending to wear these 4 inch dragonfly pumps to work, but I didn't even last 30 min before I had to swap them out for flats. The shoes I wore are new blue snake pointy lace-up ballet flats, so still edgy/current, but they don't hold a candle to the dragonfly pumps. I am sad that I can't wear them IRL. I realize I probably should get rid of them, but they really are a work of art so I cannot get myself to chuck them (I can just keep them on the shelf to admire them!). BTW I do think it's fun that the names of both shoes start with an "I". On a brighter note, I loved the matchy matchy insect theme (which is why I really wanted to wear those dragonfly pumps!). Tory Burch and Alexis Bittar, a match made in insect heaven!

Tory Burch beetle blouse
Tory Burch skirt
Tory Burch Imogene dragonfly pumps/Ugg Izabel blue snake flats
White House Black Market ink blue blazer
Alexis Bittar dragonfly necklace
Alexis Bittar aqua bee bracelet (new!)
Burberry watch
Kate Spade purse

Yes, unfortunately real life needs get in the way of our fantasies. Comfy feet win the day. Your outfit still looks great though. The blues are all beautiful and I'm enamoured by the style of your jacket.

Oh, those dragonfly pumps are heaven, but I love your RL outfit, too! Great color scheme, and teh jacket is a masterpiece of art!

The entomology is so lovely and beautiful. Beauty is such an interesting thing. It's pretty enhanced by a touch of not pretty. I mean, I'm not sure if this outfit would be the 11 that it is without the bugs. The dragon fly is beautiful of course, but would it be if it weren't a bug? I don't know.

I'm thinking heels are the bane of making fantasy reality... I think that's a pointed point you make, Nat.

Wow I see a beautiful theme you must put a hurt on the business world because you are killin the game.

Those pumps are killer! Love the outfit.

Gorgeous outfit, so you, and love all the blues.  The pumps are stunning, but it makes sense to wear flats for work.

Your insect outfit really is stunning! I love all those blues together. It's a shame about the heels, but I like the flats too.

Those heels are art objects. But I do love the flats. The bling and the blues are lovely.

Drooling over the pumps...shoes probably are the common theme among fantasy and reality.  Love the outfit with or without the heels!

Those dragonfly pumps are truly beautiful shoes.  I would keep them just to wear for date night type occasions where you aren't on your feet for extended periods of time.  The flats are nice too and I like the crossed ankle straps and snakeskin texture.

I always love your outfits GP & both of these are no exception! I remember you going back & forth about those shoes; hopefully you can wear them on sitting-only occasions. :)

Great to see you post again.  I actually think the flats look nice here, and not stumpifying at all.  Don't purge the dragonfly pumps!  Not yet at least.

What Denise said. Great to see you again, Natalie. I missed you.

I love the skirt with the flats, so I hope that helps. Fab outfit. Keep the pumps and admire them in your closet. I'm sure they'll be a piece you will pass onto your daughter one day.
