WIW 3-30-4/1: Unworn items, party dresses and Mama Dot & Mini Dot

I'm trying something new--I'm pasting multiple pictures into a Powerpoint slide and saving as a JPEG. It takes a lot longer to crop and paste (I don't have any templates so I'm just doing it freehand)--I'm not sure if I will continue doing it all the time since it's time-consuming, but I feel bad making you guys click through so many pics of one outfit so I thought I'd give it a try!

I've also been whittling down my list of unworn items sitting in my closet with the tags on.
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....hey-unworn
I've already worn ten new pieces in the last two weeks and here are three more--I'm doing pretty well (only have a few pieces left) and it's been great to shop my closet! I also tried steaming (with a handheld steamer) for the first time today--I hadn't worn the Jason Wu yet because it was wrinkled--it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

I went out with DH on Friday evening, and to two birthday parties this weekend, so I had fun wearing lots of dresses. DD really likes to dress up for parties and requested I wear "party dresses" to match hers. Big fun! My favorite was the polka dots--what do you think of Mama Dot and Mini Dot? DD and I were having fun dressing up together this weekend!

1. 3/30: Went out on a date with DH to a restaurant and saw Othello in the theater.
Tahari black and fuschia Asian print dress--first time wearing this
Bandolino black pumps--DSW clearance rack
Black dangly earrings (from my Wild West holiday party costume)
Kate Spade black ruffle trench
Small grey handbag

2. 3/31: MOTG for DD's ballet class
Ann Taylor Loft kelly green sweater jacket and yellow/green/blue floral blouse--my mom gave these to me a few years ago
Kut from the Kloth white skinny jeans--I got to keep these after all :)--first time wearing these
Yellow Converse
Kate Spade orange slice straw bag
Kate Spade butterfly necklace

3. 3/31: Kid's birthday party
Kate Spade Jillian black dress with white polka dots
Kate Spade black ruffle trench
White House Black Market red handbag
Kate Spade butterfly necklace
Clarks red T strap pumps
DD is wearing a white dress with black polka dots

4. 4/1: Kid's birthday party #2
Jason Wu for Target navy dress with cream and red stripes--first time wearing this
(one of the moms there actually recognized it as a Jason Wu, which surprised me--nobody else around here seems to be into that kind of stuff!)
Nordstrom skinny red bow belt
Clarks red T strap pumps
Anthro red corset trench
DD is wearing a red Hello Kitty dress from H&M

I love the green MOTG jacket with the orange slice purse. The mom dot and mini dot is adorable and i really like the jason wu. Cant choose a favorite here! All great!

Loved looking through your photographs and gorgeous outfits. Your children are so cute!

Hey, way to really shop your closet, wearing unworn new treasures, as opposed to just *not* shopping the stores! :) I like the powerpoint slide combo thingies a lot, but I get how all the cropping and pasting is a pain. I have quite the time just getting my Polyvore or Closet Couture things together.

Such cute looks! I really love the yellow Cons with your casual outfit. And the mommy-daughter dot dresses are off-the-charts adorable!

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

Oh my goodness. Mama Dot and Mini Dot! How can that be anything less than KILLER to the power of KILLER.

    Love all the outfits, Natalie!

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

Wow your dresses are all gorgeous, but I also want to shout out to your green MOTG outfit, which is beautiful. And your mini-me with dots is irresistible.

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

These are all glorious! I LOVE that gorgeous Asian print dress and it looks amazing with your "dress-up" earrings from the Wild West. You look elegant, sexy, and dramatic.
    Hope hubby was pleased!

As for the MOTG outfits, they are just sublime. You look great in those Kuts! And your mom's gifts are lovely; I'll bet she'd like to see those on you. They are quite a different style to the stuff she gave you this past Christmas.

Mama Dot and Mini Dot...you look so beautiful together. I hope you get one of those pictures of the two of you framed.

And the Jason Wu is stellar, too. DD harmonizes well in her H&M.

So glad you had a fun fashion weekend.

You look terrific, Natalie! Love the Mother/Daughter looks, and I'm glad you've had some time out on the town!

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

You look wonderful in everything, and such fun to find new things in the closet!

I've been waiting and hoping to see you in the Tahari! So elegant, with a hint of smoky sensuality. Lovely!

My favourite might be this MOTG outfit, especially at the point your little girl walks in :-) Outrageously adorable, that girl! And so fab that you found a way to make *your* mom's gifts work for you at the same time --- with the legendary pair of white jeans!

Mini Dot may be a mini ballerina! Love her pose in the first photo there! Such fun to coordinate yourselves. You look fun but grown-up, she looks like a little princess!

You look great in the Jason Wu, plus coordinated kids! I'm wondering if it would be too challenging to also coordinate your son in dots too? Too cutesy for him? Or maybe a a matching stripe or plaid...

  • sarah replied 12 years ago

You look terrific in all of these!

  • catgirl replied 12 years ago

Natalie, you have such an amazing collection of dresses - you really need to wear these all the time and not bother with all the other dresses out there to buy. :) I can't get over how adorable your little ones are!

  • anne replied 12 years ago

Natalie I think you are living my fantasy life! ( I love your dresses and wish I had occasions to wear one like yours) The little dot pics are so gorgeous!

  • goldenpig replied 12 years ago

LOL anne about the fantasy life! With two little kiddos, my glamorous fantasy life is far from a reality! I am totally manufacturing occasions to wear these dresses...they were seriously way overkill for two kiddie birthday parties (all the other parents were in fleece and jeans etc), but it was fun to play dress-up with DD! :)

  • anne replied 12 years ago

That is really sweet Natalie - and Brave!

  • jayne replied 12 years ago

Oh all these are perfect outfits! I love the elegant first one all the way to the playful dots (with cutest daughter ever)

And I for one thank you for the effort to do the ppt thing. it was so much easier to see all shots on one 'page' ...my pc takes a long time to load the pictures so less is more!

  • teri replied 12 years ago

really wish I could have snagged that Jason Wu Target dress...........................

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

I love all of your outfits. I'll bet your daughter loved matching you! :-) I can't even pick a favorite outfit, they are all fab!

  • replied 12 years ago

Fab fab fab! What lovely mother and daughter coordination. About manufacturing occasions, I do the same! I have a dress (long sleeves, big dots , jersey, flared , waist-defining - THE DREAM) I must have worn 100 time this winter. I remember wearing it to class with otk boots , to tango with sandals, to birthdays with heels boots and pumps, on the train - jersey doesn't constrain, etc) . Was I overdressed most of the time. Yes! Did I care? No !
Also I love you in that yellow and white outfit! So funny and cute! I love your date night outfit. So classy. Fit for a night of theater!

  • CocoLion replied 12 years ago

Everything look simply beautiful on you! Not a single flaw here.
