WIW 3/23 Pajama Party: Put A Bird On It (hypermatchy)

This is pajama party lite (sorry, no slip dresses or piped pajamas) but this dress did kind of remind me of a nightgown with the silky fabrication and bird print. I used to wear a pair of blue and white floral elastic waist palazzo pants all the time in the 90's and this print kind of reminds me of my favorite pants.

True to pajama party style with waking up with bedhead w/ cowlicks and going to bed with my slippers. I also tried the fit and flare version of this print, but that one was in a stiffer fabric and I couldn't even get it over my head. So I went with this silky sack dress instead. But added the belt to make it more work appropriate and flattering.

Pretty much dressed head to to in Kate Spade, all on sale. And doing my usual hypermatchy with the bird dress, bird belt, bird necklace, bird earrings and bird bracelet. Lots of compliments from staff/patients and even one patient who was seeing one of the other doctors called me over and asked me where I got my dress because she wanted one. Yesterday I went to Kate Spade and returned a bunch of stuff (I went way overboard when I ordered online!). Today I went back because I had returned the mint green ice cream truck clutch, but regretted it and went back to get it back. The SA remembered me from yesterday (bag over head!) but loved my entirely Kate Spade outfit.

The white pumps are an Angie pick and I have several Sam Edelman pumps in the same style and it matches my Kate Spade perforated floral purse and I love the thick ankle straps. However, after wearing it today, realized it's not that comfortable (the edges dig into the side of my big and little toes). Wondering if this is a stiffer fabric than the others. So I switched into white Vans for most of the day including after work for MOTG. Those white sneakers are so dirty though, not sure how best to clean them. So bummed that the white pumps aren't very comfortable. Wondering if maybe I should return them, but I love the style.

Total matching perfection, as always! I hope you can make those shoes more comfortable because they look great with that outfit and Look like they'd be versatile.

Love it!  The dress is very flattering and I love all the bird details.  I would take the shoes back since they aren't comfortable.  Hopefully you can find similar that fits your feet better.

Are your Vans canvas?  You might be able to wash them in the washing machine.  I used to do that all the time to canvas Keds but I haven't tried it recently.  I use baby wipes on my perforated white sneakers and it works great.  They're not canvas though so wipe down easily.

I'm so sorry the white shoes don't work, since they look terrific. And WOW, I love the bird matchyness.  It's so fun to have things hyper-coordinate!

    Adorable! Love the birds

HAH. Adorable all round. And I think I might get those same white Odynna pumps.

Thanks everyone! Angie, the shoes are fabulous looking, but just so you know, the shoe material is a lot stiffer than the Okala and Ollie pumps. Maybe that's why it's less comfortable for me than those versions (I have 4 other pairs!). I'd be interested to see what you think of them if you try them on.

Sara, that's good to know that the canvas sneakers are machine washable. I'll try that if I can't get the dirt out with baby wipes and Oxyclean.

YES. I know. I've had them on my feet a few times - which is why they are a top pick. I think they will soften though.

Really great birdy look!  I love the white accents.

I wash my converse in the washing machine (white and colored) every season and they come out fine.  First I soak them in a oxiclean solution overnight (that usually gets out any scuffs or stains on the canvas or soles, I take the laces out and soak them too), then I put them in a pillow case or a zip up mesh bag and do a cold water wash (I rinse the laces by hand and hang them to dry).   Then I just pull the tounges out and let them dry out over a couple of days.

Thanks rabbit for the tip, I'll have to try that with the sneakers.

I have to change the title of the thread, this Portlandia sketch just cracks me up!
