WIW 7/15 Life after Life: H&M floral pants reincarnation

I just finished reading a book for my mom's club book club called Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. In it, the protagonist Ursula dies many times (stillbirth, drowning, falling off a roof, Spanish flu), but each time is reborn and gets to live her life over again. And each life she makes slightly different choices which affect the outcome of what happens in her lives and those around her. Anyways, it's an interesting book and I thought of it when I was getting dressed today in these H&M floral pants. I have been disproportionately in love with these pants ever since I got them, considering they were only $15, they're ankle cropped, DH hates them, etc. My outfits with them have been OK, but I haven't felt like they were 100% right. But I keep trying over and over again, and this time I think I'm really happy with this reincarnation! The turquoise silk shirt matches the pumps and also picks up the colors in the pants. The ombre white/coral/red statement necklace also matches the colors in the pants. The red bracelet, necklace and purse all match, so the red purse isn't coming out of left field. And I like the combo of red and turquoise. I feel like this outfit is super ALGO, but in a harmonious matchy matchy way. What do you think? Is this your fave so far, or are there others that you liked as well (6-13)? Fun to see the evolution of the floral pants--I even wore it while pregnant (10-12)!

You wouldn't believe the number of comments/compliments I got on this outfit today. A younger male patient said, "Nice outfit!" (I'm surprised, I thought this outfit would be man-repelling!) Another older patient said she told her husband at home she was going to see me today and he said, "Oh she's the doc with the beautiful shoes!" Several strangers said they loved my outfit or the colors I was wearing. And at the Apple store (I was getting my phone cord replaced) a female SA came up and asked me, "Are those from H&M? I have those pants too!" Fun times!

Love this incarnation, too, especially with the black jacket! Also drooling over the necklace.

I so wish I had those pants!  You look marvelous, and I love seeing the many incarnations of them.

What fun! And isn't it nice when people notice your outfit AND say nice things about it to you.

I loved seeing all the different combos. My fave is the latest one and I especially like it with the black jacket added.

Love this one, and some of the others are fab too. I think they are great pants.

    Those ARE fun pants.

I could see you constantly getting rained with compliments. Your outfits are just too interesting and vivacious to ignore.

(Glad you liked the book, which I plan to read. Diana here turned me on to Kate Atkinson; this looks like a slight departure for her from her detective novels, which I enjoy a lot.)

Lordy, you are rocking these pants, Natalie! I love #1, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13. Keep on with the disproportionate love affair - it's working for ya ;)

Such fun ways of styling those pants! My favs are #1 and #11.

I love every look with your gorgeous pants!  I bought a similar pair - lots of colors are options for tops.  I've wished I had the nerve to try the striped top with them.  I just need to do it, as it's a great look.  Pattern mixing is fun, and I can do well when experimenting with looks, but when it comes to going out the door, I usually go back to a simpler look.  Anyone else feeling anxious about mixing patterns?

    Love them!  Especially this version!

Yes, this is definitely the best incarnation yet! The turquoise just goes so well with the pants and I love the overall shape and lines too.

I have Life After Life on my to be read pile... Right after Suz's book! Nancy, I think this is a return to Atkinson's original style from her first few books, which was very magical realist.

I loved those pants on you from the first time we saw them and think you always wear them well. That having been said, I think you're right in that this combination may be my favorite (so far - lol!). The simple but beautifully colored soft blouse works so well with the pants and I love that the shoes and blouse match. And your accessories are positively perfect. You look beautiful Natalie!

    That. Outfit. Is. K-worthy!!

    !!!PLONK!!!!

My fave combo so far -- Miss Scarlet adds such a ladylike touch!

Every outfit is gorgeous and you do pattern so well. Just beautiful.

Great outfit! I have similar pants although I can't wear them right now. I think the simple colored shirt works well and isn't overpowering with the patterned pants.

I love the pants with Miss Scarlet although my favorite is #6, except maybe without the turquoise belt. I like the length best rolled as in 8. Have you tried rolling them just a bit with a narrow cuff?
It's fun to see your TB pieces included.

I love those pants on you and have a hard time understanding why your DH doesn't like them.  :(  I like nearly all your versions!  Since I carry my weight in my stumpy legs, I will vicariously enjoy those babies on you.
