Suggest style icon(s)? Name my style(s)?

Hi! I'd love to play too...who do you think is my style icon? I thought maybe Zooey Deschanel, who also rocks glasses with long dark hair and bangs, and has a girly, colorful, playful and whimsical style. Definitely a match for my matchy matchy Kate Spade persona. And how can you not love someone who gives their daughter the middle name Otter? But then I found this quote in an interview she did:

"But first, let's get one thing straight: As far as Zooey's concerned, "quirky" is just "a nice way of saying 'weird.'"
"It's an annoying word," she explained.
Hey, what a quirky thing to say!
...Heh. Sorry.
But while most of us probably would describe Zooey's vintage-inspired and offbeat style as...well, you know, she has some better adjectives to define her unique fashion sense."I would say girly, flirtatious, colorful," she said. "Feminine, maybe, and soft. But yeah, definitely colorful."
And when it comes to putting her outfits together, she's got quite the interesting criteria: "What if I need to run away? Just take off at any minute? I want to be able to run away and dance at all times."
Meanwhile, with her self-confessed frilly sensibilities, the 1990s-inspired trends that have hit L.A. recently aren't up Zooey's alley. "I’m not a leather-dress, bondage-pumps type of person," she said. "All those straps and zippers look horrible on me. Am I going to kill someone with that shoe? I like things that are pretty. I like dressing up.""

So what about my UWP shadow persona with the tougher, edgier style and the black, studs and leather? Do I need two style icons? Or is there someone you'd suggest that can represent both my style personas? And is there a fashion descriptor(s) for my current style? Because I don't think Demure Bombshell is sufficient anymore...

I'm including a couple of recent outfits I wore showing my two styles with two different black bags, and here's a thread with more pics of my style and shadow style:

I'd never seen this Zoey character before but that definitely mirrors a side to your style.  The rock edgy side is more Kate Moss or what about Victoria Beckham...I think you both like pencil skirts.  Actually Im hopeless at choosing icons for anybody..including myself.

You definitely have a rocker chic side, and a playful superhero side too. Maybe it's more of an anime side? Yes, there must be an anime character that represents your style but I'm not familiar enough with them to pick one. I love the whimsical side of your style. The eyeglasses necklace along with your gorgeous pencil skirt, etc. it's girly, funky, pretty, fun, playful, edgy, fresh. I don't see Demure but I see bombshell. Maybe Funky Bombshell, or Edgy Bombshell, or even Playful Bombshell? I not sure, but I like bombshell because it incorporates the feminine side of your style. Perhaps Rocker Bombshell? Whimsical Bombshell?

I'm not sure I could come up with a style icon, but ZD sounds like she lacks confidence right? Plus it sounds like she's throwing an entire cohort of the population under the bus by endorsing a word as insulting. Weird? What's up with that? It's too bad because she would make a great style icon, but IMO a persons character is also important. I'm sure we can find someone else who is girly, colorful, playful and whimsical but who is capable of feeling confident wearing their style in a crowd of "leather dress and bondage pumps"! (I'm not sure where that comes from unless that's the particular group of friends she has.)

I don't think the style icon has to look like you -- and for sure you can have two!! (Or ten!)

Zooey does express a part of your style...but lacks the refinement somehow of your more ladylike looks and the sense of fun feels different than yours, more "quirky" (sorry, Zooey) where yours feels both lighthearted and clever.

Zooey is not going to bring 'warrior' to the table I agree. I think you need another style icon--a warrior with a lot of polish. I can't think of one right now though!

Natalie -- What about Emma Watson? She does refined and ladylike as well as she does a bit of hard edge and relaxed casual. She even has some fun playing with color and quirky prints. I have seen these elements in your own style. Here are some examples of her fashion sense. I see a little "polished warrior" here, no?

You definitely are more polished and inspired than some of those gals.

I agree with El Cee, I was going to suggest Emma Watson.

Cate Blanchett- she can do retro, hard edge, glamour - not sure about the matchy aspect....

I LOVE Zooey for you, Natalie. She's great inspiration. Throw in Kate Lamphear and you'll probably have both ends of the spectrum covered.

Now you, Nat, you I see with Charlize Theron because I think she plays both sides. And she's grown up.

    What about Katy Perry?

what about the Kalinda Sharma character from the Good WIfe for your UWP side?

I like Zhang Ziyi of 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' for you.  She can be tough or ultra polished.  And she rocks a pencil skirt.  You may have to dig up a sword to pull off some of her movie looks!
