WIW 11/30: Holiday office party

Here is what I wore for my holiday party for my workplace. This year they didn't have a fun costume theme like last year's Wild West, where I went as a saloon girl:

The funny story is that this year the nurse in charge of planning the party is a fashionista as well and she loves dressing up. We talk about her latest finds, but I never get to see her wearing any of them because she has to wear scrubs at work every day. She is a total Anthro fan and last year she wanted to wear a pretty lace dress (this one: http://www.anthropologie.com/a.....887426.jsp) but we had the Wild West theme (themes from the prior years' holiday parties I've been to include 60's/70's night, tango night, and casino night). So she wore the nice dress anyways and then changed into her costume halfway through. So this year when it was her turn to plan the party she said no costume theme so she could wear her fancy dresses! She wore a gorgeous black Kate Spade fit and flare dress and cobalt peep toe stilettos.

This year I wore one of the only nice dresses in my closet that is stretchy enough to fit over my huge tummy, the Bailey 44 Lolabelle black tiered lace dress from Anthro (the rest of my accessories--necklace, clutch, pumps and trench are all from Kate Spade). I bought the dress last year (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....black-lace) when I bought the orange one, but just haven't had an occasion to wear the black lace one yet. I know some of you were concerned that I would ruin the dress by stretching it out (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....tchbag-out), but it was only for a couple hours and it seems like it still looks intact after I took it off. Otherwise it would just continue to sit unused in my closet, and I didn't want to buy a maternity evening dress just for one wear. It's funny, I'm normally Team Tailored Fit, but while I am pregnant, I really prefer body con to flowy and voluminous looks. I like to flaunt the bump! I liked wearing the white statement necklace. I wasn't sure which shoes to wear with it but I didn't have any good black evening sandals so I just went for some colorful turquoise pumps and a matching turquoise clutch. A lot of the other ladies at the party also had big statement necklaces, and high high spiky heels and short sexy body-con evening dresses. I was pretty conservative by comparison! It was fun to see everyone so dressed up since they're always in scrubs! They gave out Santa hats at the party so DH and I wore ours, and got a couple to give to the kids. The party was a lot of fun!

Ohh, I love how the beads in the necklace relate to the texture of the clutch and the color of the clutch relates back to the shoes. And pregnancy really agrees with you - you look extra super duper beautiful.

I love the originality of turquoise and white accents with black, Natalie!
You look gorgeous- the body con silhouette has been working so well for your lovely baby bump.
    Glad you had fun!

EEE! You are too cute in your santa hats together! And BTW I love all your bodycon pregnancy looks. Better to flaunt the bump than to err on the side of looking ambiguously large, IMO. Anyway, the turquoise and white touches are beautiful and brighten up the black dress to make it so festive looking. High five for wearing that awesome dress!

OMG, #3 is so beautiful - you need to be on a magazine cover! You look like the ultimate glam-mama-to-be. I am just floored at how much style you have radiated during this pregnancy - how much longer do we have?
